The speculation, which with speculation but speculation, will bring SONY closer to speculation.

The upcoming PSP GO shows that SONY are very willing to distribute software digitally.

SONY's recent patents which describe PS2 emulation using the PS3's cell processor has potential to allow all PS3s to have backwards compatibility.

The speculation will not only be speculation with a larger speculation, but access to the entire speculation.

Hopefully, SONY goes the way of VALVE, and has sales promotions like 50% Shadow of the Colossus, before the sale of The Last Guardian...

What?

That's a lot of speculation.

off topic but they (sony) should be making a lot of money from an increase in mj records

Yup this is the reason for the 10 year plan, Sony doesn't want to release everything all at once there taking there time with this and making the right decision. In a years time the PS3 should be selling double what its selling now, every week.

I am happy they deserve it!!!

Things are looking up for Sony. However, the slim still hasn't been revealed or a released date/window hasn't been announced.

The PS3 SLIM will be released, which with lower production costs but similar price point, will bring SONY closer to profitability from the PS3 console.

What? No PS3 Slim at $299? I wouldn't call that 'everything falling in line for Sony'.

If there's no $100 price cut in 2009 the sales of PS3 will be very low and Sony will come third place in this gen.

I will say things are looking up for Sony especially if the PS3 slim is real. You also forgot to mention those two new bundles which are great deals. I think it has some excellent games coming this holiday season and a even stronger lineup next year, and if we get the PS3 slim at a lower price I think PS3 will do excellent.

The PSPGo looks awesome too, although a bit pricey. With a arguably better lineup than the HD twins it is the first time I have been looking forward to psp's lineup.

I think Sony is sorting there problems out pretty well and am really excited about the future of the PS3.

What sony does it does because it's the best thing to do, sony executives won't just sit at the meetings rolling their fingers and think "ok let's cut the price of the console right now!" they just can't do it so easily since they would lose even more money and since ps3s still sell fine there's no immediate need to lower the price. Getting to the 2nd place propably isn't one of their top priorities if it endangers profiting from the console. Right now they are clearly trying to boost the sales with lot of games and with the slim, it might or might not be cheaper than the original ps3 but even if it isn't some people still buy it just because of it's more compact and appealing to them visually.

I predict slim to be around the same price as a normal ps3 maybe even 50$ cheaper, but when it starts to slow down in sales they could drop another 50$ to prolong the sales boom.
