Forums - Nintendo - Edge gives The Conduit and Another Code: R 4/10

I think the reviewers hate the Wii and the blue ocean 'casual' games it's spawning and hope to damage the reputation of it's sole 'hardcore online FPS' in an effort to keep those types of games only on the HD consoles. Very unprofessional.

I dont think reviewers from edge have this "mission", maybe the conduit isnt a great game, and we know edge has given games like mgs4 8s and things like thaat.

I've read Edge magazine quite a lot over the years they really are just PC game lovers. Edge will love the PC to the grave which wont be long judging by their reviews

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

Reviews should never be inline with anyone apart from the reviewer themselves, it's an opinion. And as for the whole argument about supposedly not-so-great games scoring higher than supposedly great games, it's complete bullshit. A game isn't given a score depending on how it did compared to one game, but on its own merits. If a reviewer feels a game is worth a 9, but many people think that this game could never score above MGS4, then that's just a matter of their tastes being different.

See thats where your wrong. Nearly every damn review for The Conduit is based on the premise that its not as good as Halo, resistance, Modern warfare, Etc. Hell, even Ninendo Power filled half a review complaining that its wasnt a Halo 3. What your saying would work in a perfect world, but corruption and stupidity exist.

the same as prinny, can i be the hero? hmm

lol guys, don't be mad towards low score reviews on Conduit anymore =P. it can only go 2 ways, 1.) a decent score, aka people who are at least decent with the wiimote controls(usually the 7.5+ rating from what I've read.) or 2.) shit ass reviews and scores, aka people who completely suck shit balls with the wiimote like it's their first day with dual analog on console shooters bitching about CoD4 controls.

nobody should be surprised.

I've never heard of this mag, not common on most shelves at the shops I guess.

I know they used to review games but not give numerical scores. They just gave you a recommendation.

Or option 3.) the reviewer that just did not enjoy The Conduit as much as you.

It doesn't matter how much the reviewer like the game or not. If he is subjective he could see that it is a good game for Wii and score is accordingly. Personally, liking or disliking a game has nothing to do with it if he is a professional.

Otherwise ALL kids games would be scored 2/10 when there are actually some good ones for their intended audience.

Go look at Haze reviews. If what you say is true, then it is nothing new. It's not being hated on simply because it's a Wii game

Eh, w/e. As long as I enjoy The Conduit, that's what matters to me.
