I remember this game, i played and finished it right after they released the final patch with all the routes translated.

My favourite path would probably be Fate though that's probably because of my preference for Saber after that i like Ultimate Blade Works and Heaven's Fell was my least favourite, though i loved all the routes.


Oh, if you guys like Fate/Stay Night you may also like the Visual Novel Princess Waltz, which was officially translated by the Visual Novel translating Company Peach Princess.

I'm almost done with the anime. It is pretty good so far. Not any where near Code Geass though.

Nooo, play the game first. Don't spoil yourself x.x

Thanks but I'll pass. I'm not really interested in staying in the VN genre that long.
As good as it is, it's very time consuming.
The only thing keeping me there is Type-moon's universe since every one of their games have a connection with another game in that same universe. That's my hook.
Plus I just enjoy Nasu's stories.

When or if TM closes down, I'll probably move back to more mainstream less time consuming mediums.

I think my reading speed must be really high, I don't generally find VN's time consuming, Fate/Stay Night was long but it only took me about 4 hours per route to finish =/

Fate route alone costed me around 24 hours, but that was because I imagined and visualized every detail. Not to mention I reread the cooler parts before seeing what happens next. I was that into it..

24 hours is enough to pass me around 68 eps of anime if I skip most of the Op/Ed.
F/S N anime is only 24 eps, which cover an estimated 80-90% Fate 15-20% UBW and 5-10% HF
The Time:Covered material Ratio is Huge.
And considering that there's 3 routes in F/S N.

Let's just say the Adaptation has to blow me away first before I go after the time consuming original source.

Wow that is pretty fast. I think I intentionally chose a holiday to read them because I know for sure I won't be able to stop until I'm done. Took me a day or so for every route. >_>

Didn't like the anime. Can't even say that the main character was dead to me... I spent most of the time hoping that he would die...

The anime was an alright adaptation of the Fate route. The bit with HF references was extremely bad, as they tried to jam in something that couldn't possibly be done in a episode, and didn't make any sense at all.

Play the game. Visual novels completely rely on good stories, as they have no gameplay really, and trust me, the story in the game is fucking amazing.

I thought exactly like this before.  I blamed him for forcing Saber to use excalibur against Rider thus draining her mana . I blamed him for getting captured and making  Archer die. I blamed him for going to that church and getting stabbed by Lancer that eventually lead to Lancer's death by the hands of Gil. Plus he's just so reckless that I felt like he deserved to die.

But if you figured out he was Archer and remember their conversations, it shows more insight into Shirou's character.
Archer knows what happened in the Holy Grail War. Him telling Shirou "There's nothing you can do to save Saber". "Understand this, that Saber chose to use excalibur because she wanted to protect you above all else". Rin telling Shirou that Archer might know Saber from his past life because he wistfully stares at her from the roof(He was a watchman) and Archer telling Rin that "Saber shouldn't be a servant because he doesn't want her to regret her life the same way he did". Shirou finally meets Saber again after so long but he couldn't do anything, I bet Shirou must have been dying to just hold her.

So yeah, even without playing the game. You can gather a lot from Shirou's character.
Playing the game, the choices are well rationalized that I couldn't even blame him for the things I mentioned up top.
