Forums - Sales - Will the NDS be the most sold system of all time by Christmas?

Looking at the current hardware sales will the NDS become the biggest seller ever by Christmas this year?

I say yes easily

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

Can it really sell 20m consoles in 6 months.... I suppose it is just about possible

Don't think so, PS2 has sold merley 136.5 million and DS is currently around 105.5 million, by Christmas the DS will have reached roughly 120 million, so afterwards it needs at least 8 months to catch up to that,

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

The DS is a monster.

By the way, in a few weeks DQ9 will launch. The numbers will make this site implode.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Does it matter? When all is said and done, the DS will be at at least 200 million anyways.

Next Christmas, yes. This Christmas, no.

Although i personally think that DSi should be counted as a stand alone unit, as it has games what cannot be played on DS/DSlite.

Where is the PS2 sitting at right now?...

I thought it was around the 120 mil mark, but others are saying closer to 140 mil mark? If it is the former, I think the DS has a chance to reach it by the end of the year. If it is the latter, then it will happen next year.

Just wondering...

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

VGC has it at 125m, but PS2 tracking is harder at it is released in more regions that aren't tracked. Sony says they had sold 136m as of December 31 2008

Well yes DS is having great sales.
