survival horror games
JRPGs are fine..
Point and Click games are doing bad , maybe dead but someone needs to revive them
Survival Horror games, im not talking about shooters .
Adventure , why is uncharted called Third Person Shooter now? , well they are not really dying but people seem to not understand the difference between them and shooters.
TPS games
I really like TPS games. Hell, I bought Terminator Salvation because it was one, and it is fun. But they seem to be getting divided amongst other genres. Like Resident Evil and Dead Space are Survival/Horror games.
People need to stop saying JRPGs. Just because you guys only play a couple doesn't mean they're 'dying'. There's literally hundreds of JRPGs this generation. The sheer number of JRPGs on DS, PSP and 360 alone would outnumber many other genres combined. Just the number of games Atlus, SquareEnix and Namco comes out with would cover 50+ titles a year. And that's not counting other companies or the tons of other smaller groups who aren't as big as a Konami or Capcom or Nintendo.
Genres which are 'dying' are such as Simulation games, point and click adventures, flight/space sims, brawlers, etc.
The main reason Platformers and Shmups are in freefall as of late is that they're the most popular subject of the Indy Games genre. I can think of, off the top of my head, 5 games in both genres that are completely free to play on Windows and are miles ahead of anything recently released commercially.
Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

JRPG most definitely. The ones that are being released are or... poor or underrated or sold poorly. I've got a PS3 for 1,5 year now, and the 25 games I own, from them only 3 are JRPG's. While my PS2 collection is exactly the other way around.
PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Err...we survival horror buffs will not consider the last RE and Dead space as survival horror.
Also as far as TPS...there are still many. Bionic Commando, Wanted, Terminator Salvation all came out this year.
We only got 2 true survival horror games in the last 2 years. Siren and Silent Hill.
Throw my vote down for JRPGs, normally I have a library filled with JRPGs. But this generation? Tales of Vesperia remains my only JRPG. The entire genre is dying.
Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?
