Heavenly Sword - 7.9 average with a 7.0 from IGN
published by Sony

Animal Crossing Wii - 7.3 average with a C from 1up
developed by Nintendo

Too Human - 6.5 average with a C- from 1up
published by Microsoft

Most games published by the big three get better scores because they are generally more polished and better games. If what you said was true would sites have reviewed even close to this low for games from all three?

7.9 and 7.3 are not bad scores. And Pokemon Battle Colliseum, or whatever it was called, got a pretty low score too. Outside of these games though, find me other 1st party games that have gotten bad reviews.

I agree they are generally the more polished games, also, but what I've stated is still true.

Ignoring the many ones on XBLA and PSN...

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

So I guess Sonic Unleashed for the 360 must be much better than for the Wii

Huh, i didn't know Ninety Nine Nights was published by MS.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This thread reminds me why I don't trust reviews anymore. Better to just read the experiences of people who haven't been "forced" to play / bash the games I'm interested in, and gauge whether I should still be interested.

LoL, first you say user reviews are not accurate or they don't play the game and stuff, and now you post these

come on, are you serious, Lair for example got 6.2 user score and 5.3 press, this shows that user reviews are not a joke!

user review and gamer score is much closer in HD consoles than Wii games, that's my point

they wouldn't be so close in HD games if user score was just a joke with 0.0s and 10s from fanboys

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

you found a single game with a close score, doesn't mean that your system of assuming user scores are the actual scores all gamers would give the games is realistic.

I've mentioned the issues with your system time and time again, and you just want to ignore it so you can harp about reviewers and the Wii. Thinking that all of these 0's and 10's counteract each other to make an accurate system is just ridiculous. In the end it means that user scores aren't the well thought out reviews of users, but instead they only differ based on how many fans of the console and how many antifans decide to take the time to give the game a score.

I'm fine with people that don't want to trust review scores, but looking at user scores instead is just foolish.

...

A very interesting point...

I trust reviews from people who bought the game (online retailers) more than the so called "professional reviewers"

One example: Disaster Day Of Crisis.
Metacritic: 69.

^^That's enough to put many people off. However, if you read reviews from users (amazon.co.uk, play.com, game.co.uk), the results say it's good.

I bought it and loved it.

reviews are supposed to reflect average gamers opinion about a game, therefore giving an idea to the consumer how good a games is

accoarding to gamestats.com , reviewers opinion is much closer to HD gamers opinion, but most of the times is different from Wii gamers opinion

average reviewers do not really understand the Wii demographic, and they review Wii games accoarding to Ps3/Xbox360 hard-core gamers point of view, review system just doesn't work with Wii games i believe

for example:
