Australia is crazy like that...when they want to liquidate stock...they don't mess around. I mean..we are surrounded by water, which is a liquid....see the pattern?

Holy crap I'd rebuy one for that price! Even if a pricecut/slim is on the way! $160 is too cheap to pass up!

Although, they did say this was on the 40GB model which has been unavailable for many months now. They didn't say anything about 80GB model being liquidated.

let's not jump to conclusions they said it's the 40GB model the one that was cut last summer so they might have a few extras laying around and want to push them out, doesn't mean Slim is coming and personally I don't think we are going to see a price cut this year, Slim maybe but I have a feeling it's gonna still be $400.

They only way I can see price cut happen is that sony price the PS3 fat at $349 or $299 and introduce the slim as a premium fresh new look for $399 and when the Holidays are over and the Fats are mostly out of stock Sony will reduce the Slim price to what was the fat price in the holiday to keep the steam going into the winter/spring. that's how I see it at least
