Forums - Sales - Xbox 360 more wanted than playstation 3?

$199 vs $399 but that fails to include a hard drive (add 100 for a good one) and the wifi capability (add another 100 if you want to buy the official MS one) and the price of xbox live.

$399 (and xbox live) vs $399
In that regard ps3 is considerably cheaper

Sony fucked up by making their console too expensive and developers went elsewhere to sell their software. Even if the PS3 gets a price drop they still don't have all the great exclusives like they did in the past.

Judging by the sales, it seems that the xbox 360 has been outselling the playstation 3 since the price cut and has an overall sale of 30 million units vs 22 million units of playstation 3 sales.

I hear people say that sales shows the xbox 360 is the more desired console to buy than the playstation 3 and I also hear that the playstation 3 is the more desired console because of the exclusives. After hearing both sides, I don't know which side to believe.

So is the xbox 360 really a more desired console to buy than the playstation 3 simply because it has more sales?

well last year it was approx £299 vs £169 entry.

the the £299 ps3 sold more than a £169 360 entry. so you could say ps3 was clearly more wanted than 360.

nowadays its £299 vs £129............. a £129 entry price for a 360 is a bargain hence it sells more

if theres a price cut this year for ps3 it will easily sell more than 360. all microsoft have for them is cutting price to compete with ps3.

to give an example of which console is more wanted, halo 3, microsofts biggest game spiked the weekly console sales on the 360 to around 70k consoles more than week before.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

"Sony f'ed up by making their console too expensive"

Is it like they wanted to? Before, it costed them more than $800 to manufacture each playstation 3 system and had to reduce the cost down by almost half to make it profitable enough for retail. Sony already lost money from the playstation 3 and they can't afford to lose any more.

"Even if the PS3 gets a price drop they still don't have all the great exclusives like they did in the past"

Not all, but enough to have a decent amount of exclusives. Unlike the xbox 360, which it almost has none.

They'll never catch up in NA, WW sales is another story though...

It'll never catch up in WW sales either. Because that includes NA.

Wow, I can't believe there are still people using this argument. But hey, I guess you're right, every Arcade buyer will buy all those items. Hell, last I heard Xbox Live Gold had 30 million subscribers! I guess they're too dumb for not just getting the Pro or Elite from the beginning

What are you looking at, nerd?

Who cares if the PS3 wins in those regions? The 360 still has a HUGE advantage in WW sales and that continues to grow every week.

More importantly to me, the 360 dominates in the country I am in so we get the best software support.

Edit: In case a Wii fanboy rolls around, this is a HD debate.
