This is what i was thinking. I figure this site attracts more intellectual gamers, or at least more so than you'd expect on GameFAQs message boards, IGN message boards, etc. So as a result you get more of a fanbase that enjoys a more intellectual gameplay expirience, or at least something that isn't as reaction-based as an FPS, not that we dont enjoy those either.
Me - i love my RPGs but not for storyline or character development - i honestly just like seeing my character get stronger as i progress through the game, which i feel doesnt happen enough in most other games other than simply getting better at the game.

I think you summed it all up pretty well there buddy.
I do love good RPG experiences myself, and like many people here said, it's mostly for the stories that they are remembered. Also, when the experience is intensified with beautiful and interesting music, it's seriously not hard to understand why some consider the genre to be one of the best out there. Interactive movies FTW! =P
