I am quite surprised by sales figures - a lot lower than expected. May appeal more to hard-core gamers (maybe SciFi turns people off?) than other games?

But for Assassins to outsell it by 3:1-2:1, is a real surprise IMO. Mass Effect definitely holds more attraction to me! 

 


Assassins Creed to me is complete garbage, it has so many flaws it's not funny. It is a surprise because Mass Effect is so much better.



I'll take the case!!!

Maybe the commercial should have actually showed what the game was instead of just displaying a generic scene that could have been taken from any sci-fi shovelware game in the 360's library.

Assassin's Creed had a phenomenal commerical which capitalized on a genre experiencing a recent boom with movies like 300 and Beowulf... Old History.

Well I was dead wrong, ah well at least I now have Mass Effect to help me get over it.

And yeah I also can't see why people keep picking up Assassin's Creed but not this, maybe GTA withdrawal is getting to them?

Mass Effect is the most disappointing game I've played all year - though I'd still give it 7 or 8 out of 10 for all the great parts that helped make up for the suck. Now that Bioware has created their universe, hopefully they can spend more time making an actual game in the sequels.

Master chart updated. I think it is safe to say that this game blindsided everyone even the best guesser was over a hundred thousand units off. Madskillz you really do have mad skills. Even the games skeptics gave it more respect. Anyone else feel a tad uncomfortable with this weeks numbers for Mass Effect?

they dont feel right

neither do rock band numbers and quite a few other games. ROck band is COMPLETELY sold out in this town. Mass effect you had to PREORDER or you did not get a copy until second shipment.

Numbers do not feel right at all



                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

 Your town sounds strange to me. All three of the Best Buys in my area have palettes stacked with Rock Band and Mass Effect, whlie selling decnetly, is far from hard to get ahold of. Of course, I live in the suburbs.

1st person shooter games flood 360 nowadays.... maybe the amount of this kind of game nearly reaches its saturation??

anyway, due to the holiday seasons, many good games are out in all the platforms. This could explain why ME couldn't get the sales supposed to have...

Yeah my town is way overstocked.  Guess it just goes to show you why anecdotal evidence isn't worth a damn.

guess you guys are right

the data cant be the same everywhere i suppose

then again i live in a small town up in the mountains in a state no one knows about (Idaho) so they probably didnt get to many copies
