How can you count out Dragon Quest X? We know absolutely nothing about it...

Based only, singularly, and primarily, on my opinion and experience of Dragon Quest XIII. Otherwise, there is no reason

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I'm going to go ahead and assume you meant Dragon Quest VIII...

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

No, I meant Dragon Quest 13. You know, the one thats been out for *checks calender* -6 years. Yes, I did mean 8.

based on Dragon Quest VIII, which was one of the best rpgs on the PS2(alongside TotA, final fantasy 12, and kingdom hearts), DQ 10 will probably do well, regardless of what system its on(really hoping its wii though).

Tales of graces...do i really need to say anything?

Manado looks ok, but i have to see actuall gameplay first. if there is any can someone provide a link?

valhalla knights will probably not do well.

FFCC: TCB looks awsome. i think this will do really well.

thats what i think.

@TX

DQ X is exclusive to Wii.

Also, there is Monado gameplay. Can't give a link since I'm on my Wii but just go to YouTube and search "Monado Wii trailer" and there's some gameplay there.

DQ X is exclusive? really? wow, i didnt know that, awsome!

oh and thanks for the manado tip. =D

Is Crystal Bearers still an RPG? It looks more and more like action game. That's not a bad thing, just curious.

But Graces and Dragon Quest X will both do well when they're released next year. (DQ in 2011/2012)

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

Tales of Graces, Fragile, and FFCC:CB are the games I'm-a gonna get from that list.

I'm going to wait and see how Monado shapes up, Monolith isn't half-bad.

I'm ashamed that I forgot about Fragile and Shiren 3...

You should be ashamed for this!!!!

The developer of the best RPG last gen (Baten Kaitos: Origin, not the "half-bad" Eternal Wings), that includes the developers of Chrono Cross, the developers of Xenosaga series, and you say "Monolith isn't half-bad"? Not to mention Soma Bringer and soon Dragon Ball Kai. Well... IMO they're one of the best RPG teams all arround!

Seriously, I hope Nintendo buy them to make an RPG that matches FF or Dragon Quest in terms of production values, and not to make half-baked games as Disaster or Monado. It truly hurts my heart.

They've already said they were developing a big RPG (and Monado is being developed by the small group that made Soma Bringer, not the main team), so there's hope. But if Nintendo purchase them to do small projects... I'll be trully irratated with them!

I wonder if Wii will get more RPGs than these so far.

Considering we're at least a year away from the end of this generation, it would be shocking if it didn't.
