Forums - Nintendo - Conduit: Kinda fun, but underwhelming and outdated.

 The gameplay/controls are blah

Why? You can customize your controls and the customization is the best that I saw in my entire life...

The controls are the best controls for an FPS EVER, IMHO.

I've only played up to the end of the airport. I tried to remain relatively spoiler free on this game so I had no idea I would eventually earn regenerating health. I figured the system in place for the start would carry through. Based on some of the things said in this thread so far, I'm going to go turn it on again and play some more. As for the person who asked if I had tried multiplayer, I'm not really a big fan of multiplayer. I'm more of a 1p guy. Anyway, I don't have wi-fi, so I'm not connected to the net with my Wii. My PS3 is connected through a wired connection.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

At least so far, I think MoHH2 controls are better.  I thought for sure I'd be able to lean out from cover.

Outdated? Yes, but when comparing it to shooters on the HD consoles. I own a PS3 and love CoD, yet I'm finding this game massively fun so far. I absolutely love the controls.

Can't you just strafe, go back, then straffe again? I really don't get why people find leaning mechanics so interesting... The customization goes far beyond anything comprehensible. You get to set your own dead-zones, set all sensetivities, speed, map out everything, completely move/fade/remove your HUD, and MORE! It's amazing! I wish every wii FPS in the future would give you this much customization...

Why don't you do this? Whenever you are not using your PS3s connection, why don't you plug it up into the Wii.

Nothing will happen when you unplug your PS3s connection, just plug it back in the Ps3 whenever you want to use it again.

I own a PS3 as well btw, but I'm on a wireless connection.

Multiplayer is actually the selling point of this game, you are missing out.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

Health pickups?  Are you kidding me?  Get up to speed with modern shooters that have regenerating health.

No offense, but regenerating health never made sense in FPSs. Actually, it makes them too easy.

I've yet to buy a copy of The Conduit, but all the bad things you said about it aren't really a problem for me.

Last thing... Are you seriously complaining about repetitive enemies? Where have you been all this time? o_O

Yea what a casual gamer he must be needing that haha.

Anyways I just bought my copy today and sorry the OP didn't like it.  I'm sure it'll be as I expect it to be... a generic single play run through with a good enough online play to keep me busy.

Ditto.

Once you do get regen health, it goes up really slowly. Unlike in Red Steel.

Multiplayer people.

Tell me about it.

SO... in other words, as good as Halo 3?

Btw, you do know why "regenerating health " was implemented, right? The games that tend to use them need to scale down polys to speed up framerate, so they reduce item objects in the game. With regenerating health, they can kill off all health related objects, freeing up a few thousand polys and reducing scripting needs.
