This being Fallout, it could very well be a Bethesda bug
have you tried letting your console cool off for a few minutes and fire up another (different) game?
(Grasping at straws, but maybe it'll work, who knows?)

Proud Sony Rear Admiral
you could also check to see if you had any loose cables on the TV side. (try using a different input on the TV like if you use Component 1 use component 2 and see if it still does it.) Or a different TV.
I got RROD when GTA IV froze 4 times in a row.
Don't worry your system breaks soon enough
You are about to get E-74 and Microsoft will fix it, even though you haven't actually gotten it yet. (At least they did for mine.) It has nothing to do with your cables or your TV. It has to do with the hardware inside the Xbox where your cables actually plug in. When mine happened, I was playing Tiger Woods 09 and started getting yellowish/greenish lines all over the screen. When I went back out on to the dashboard, the lines were all still there. I switched out cables, switched inputs on my TV, nothing made a difference.
Probably best that you just call MS now and get it over with.

Well thats good, but my luck is that MS stopped sending out the coffins a few weeks ago. |
hmmm you tried disconnecting all the cables and give it a few mins then reconneting everything??
Apart from that MS stopped sending coffins ages ago here in UK.. you have to make your own makeshift coffin then call up the UPS guys and arrange a time for them to collect it
Also MS will not do anything untill the console stops breathing.
anyway if you do get RRoD just do it all online its much easier and you don't have to talk to a person with a dodgy accent
I think its just my component cables. i tried it out again, and i can hear the 360 boot up and the sounds it makes when you sign in, but i can't see anything. I tried this on 3 different TVs and the same thing happened. So its pretty obvious that the cord is going out.
Thank the Lord. So i'm just gonna get me some new cables and hope that fixes the problem.
RKO i was getting the same discolered blurrieness when i would turn on the console. it eventually became e74 with one red ring so maybe yours is showing signs i hope not because it sucks especially while i was fighting a big daddy and then e74 screen.
I got an error back in December 08' not E74 but E73 with only one red light flashing, still was a RROD..
I wasn't even playing when it happend, I turned on my 360 the first time that day and there it was, E73
I took my 360 apart down to the board, replaced the X-clamps (X-clamp mod) and added extra cooling fans, self powered, and modded the stock fans to run at a consistent 12v..
no problem since ..
My Xbox 360 model is a Sept. 07' MFR. date .

My Trigger Happy Sixaxis controller

Are you using HDMI or component? If its HDMI then possibly your port is coming loose. Its happening to mine and sometimes it makes the screen change colors and fuzz in and out and the like. Try re adjusting your HDMI cable
Long Live SHIO!
