Forums - Nintendo - Gamepro reviews The Conduit, 3.5/5 wich is 70%

the reviewer says he didn't get to experience the multiplayer???? WTF

How do you review a game when the bulk of the experience lies outside of the campaign??? Would you review halo without playing online?

I'm sorry but that review really is a piece of shit. He complains about the motion controls for melee attacks, yet you can customize it to change it to a button press. That is outright ignorance.

He also says the game basically doesn't look much better than GoldenEye on the N64. Then you just don't know what you're talking about.

He also hasn't tried the online multiplayer.

The sad thing is, this review will be on Metacritic and will prevent people from buying the game.

It's nice how he seems to want to blame the Wii for the visuals...Sure, it would've looked better technically on 360/PS3, if they got more money to spend that is. And, I think that the problem ain't the Wii but the Art Direction. Just look at MP3, even MP & MP2. May not be as technicaly good as tC but the art makes up for it. That is one thing HVS must learn when making future titles.

Stopped reading when he said the game didn't have better graphics than Goldeneye.

he didn't say Conduit had the same graphics as Goldeneye, he said that the difference wasn't as large as he would like.

He does seem to harber a bit of Wii hate though, you can't review a game poorly because it doesn't stack up graphically to what other consoles can put out

Fair enough, but really, I hope he said the same of every FPS in the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation, too, as graphically this looks better than at least 95% of them.

@Montana: Basically, yeah.  Not 'doesn't look better', but he definitely thinks they're on the same page.

@Chrizum: He's right, you know.  After all, it's totally unintuitive to throw a punch in order to, you know, throw a punch .  And he'd definitely play Halo or Killzone based solely on the single-player game.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Saying the game does not look better than Goldeneye on the N64 is just another proof that some reviewers (a) are poor at their jobs or (b) do not like the Wii.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Wait... isnt The Conduit meant to be the Wiis best looking game?

From gamepro's review:
Let's get the inevitable comparisons to Goldeneye out of the way right now: The Conduit is the closest you will get to recapturing the magic of Goldeneye on a Nintendo console. I can't speak for the multiplayer because I didn't experience it first-hand (several other GamePro editors did, though, and their impressions are posted in our The Conduit multiplayer preview) but the single-player campaign is definitely reminiscent of Rare's classic; go ahead, fanboys, let the scream of joy out -- I'll wait. You done? Good, because you won't like what I have to say next.

Ummmm.... he didn't play multiplayer.....

Which makes you wonder why review it...

Former something....

That review is filled with inconsistancies.

The story doesnt make sense, yet he skipped the cutscenes.
Controls suck, yet he didnt bother with the customization options.
Reviewed an online-centric game with playing the online component.

Why did you guys read this far? I stopped reading after he said I didn't play multiplayer. Don't make a fucking review then...
