I think if the Wii was released at $600 (it hasn't STAYED at $600 so stop making it, the ps3 has made all its sales at that price point) then yeah I think the Wii would be well above 21 million.

Because competition in the console industry is good. You should care enough to want them to stay in the console race and force MS and Nintendo to keep puching to innovate and create better games and products.

The same is true for all the console developers.

I have to disagree. A lot of the wii sales are from casual gamers (Not all as GC had 21 Million users ). But would those 21 Million + have been willing to by a Wii at 600$ after coming from the GC generation? I don't think so. As they would see it as paying for a slight GC upgrade with Motion controls . a 200% Increase launch price for Motion controls ? Food for thought.

IMO you still have to care about Sony because he is the big Goliath that we're trying to defeat in this gen (as Xbox fans and owners).

Sony is a very powerful corporation, brand and console maker. He can still come back and dominate the rest of us, and make us feel like peanuts. Make us feel like second rate console owners.
