I can say the easyiest is (Avatar: The Air Bender), got 1000 in less then 24 seconds when I worked at Gamestop.

The first time you press a button in Ghostbusters - assuming you run straight to the fire pole - you get 5 Gamerscore. Plenty of other games will fatten your total for not much work.

I haven't played Prototype, haven't played Red Faction: Guerilla yet, but of the new games out there I scarcely see how any can give you as much in a single, no-frills playthrough of the main story as Ghostbusters did. You'll get 110 for sleepwalking through the first level, 125 if you zap the ham and get knocked down by your own proton pack. Beating each stage also returns another 20 Gamerscore. These things don't take the word "achievement" very literally, IMHO.

If you're looking to finish off Father's Day weekend with some good old-fashioned achievement-whorin', TestFreaks Blog has a long list of titles, both retail and XBLA, that can prop up your overall gamerscore. You may have some laying around, who knows. But if anyone's got a recent game that offers as much score for as little work as Ghostbusters, let me know in the comments.

Yeah, I'm not afraid to admit that I rented Avatar to get the 1000 achievements.

Games like that aside, I actually like games that give you a lot of achievements pretty easily. As long as I'm getting a steady stream of achievements, I'll keep playing. The games where I play for five hours and still have less than 100 points I usually end up putting down.

Terminator Salvation - 1000G in 4 hours, just complete the game on hard.

Gun wasn't a bad game.. in fact, it was rather good...

Madden 06 was really easy

King Kong was pretty easy as well.
I heard you can even use cheats and still earn them

Phantasy Star Universe. 8 in total if I can remember. All you need to do it beat the game for 1000 easy achievement points.

I got all 1000 points from Fight Night Round 3 and Phantasy Star Universe. You just complete the games for those.

I got 1250 points from Oblivion GOTY. You get that from completing all the quest lines which is easy but I played that game for 100 hours.
