Basically I don't consider any professional to be as irrational as to invest more money where costs are higher and where less returns are expected. So yeah, even Kojima might become yet another "lazy" developper according to PS fans. 360 is currently "only" 10k above PS3 (which is still 10% more than PS3), but Microsoft knows how to push sales in the holiday season and they have so much more margin of manoeuver than Sony that they might even reach tipping point this year, despite all the shared IPs. PS. GTAIV is really a good precedent. GTA, as a brand, was immediately associated with Playstation almost as much as MGS is. At the time Rockstar spent more money developping on PS3 to achieve a version and didn't quite match the ported 360 version (native resolution and framerates are actually lower on the PS3). |
No. Did People buy a PS3 because there was a exclusive GTA game on it? No.
People who really like MGS bought MGS 4 and a PS3 with it. I'm not saying MGS: R won't sell on the 360, but there is no proof the 360 has MGS fans (again, not saying there aren't any).
