There is a precedent : GTAIV

Using the precedent GTAIV argument kinda kills your whole argument. The difference here is that the majority of MGS fans have already purchased a PS3 to play MGS4. Chances are that since this is a spin-off only the Hardcore of the Hardcore MGS fans will pick this up and since the majority of MGS fans are PS3 owners well nuff said.
