Gran Turismo 5 Gets UK Release Date

Mark your calendars now for the 27th of November, 2009.  That’s when you’ll be able to get your hands on Gran Turismo 5 in the UK, according to Play.  We’ve checked our usual Sony press sources and there’s no confirmed date from them yet, but the 27th is at least a Friday, so let’s hope it checks out.  We’ll continue to keep an eye on this but we’ve heard recently that both version of GT, 5 and the PSP one, are pretty much done and ready to go, so a late 2009 release does hold some weight - here’s hoping.

I find it weird that PD/Sony seem to want to put out the PSP and PS3 versions in the same quarter of the same year. I mean, no new proper Gran Turismos since 2005 and then two in two months? I know one is portable and everything but still, I can't help thinking Gran Turismo 5 will steal PSP's thunder. I mean, if GT5 wasn't out 'til next year, some impatient GT fans might grab a PSP and GT while they wait. That would be a decent strategy IMO.

Having said that, I hope this IS true, because GT5 is my most anticipated game in years. I love GT and I WANT IT NOW.

Im thinking sense you can connect the psp version with the ps3 verison they are hoping you will buy both.. i know i will!

It could be because they wanted the PSP versions and PS3 versions to communicate back and forth... They could have needed extra time but still wanted to release both before the holidays.

Well I imagine this would be WW. cause I thought Sony and PD said it would launch WW same day. So I do hope this is true, it would make for a huge Holiday for Sony. And a happy holiday for me

As much as I would like to believe this, it isn't happening. GT5 won't be released before 10/2010. Sony would have announced it at E3 if it was hitting this year. I think they have it slated as their big exclusive for the end of next year.

(I really do hope I am wrong.)

Certainly possible... But somehow I doubt it, especially considering how "reliable" this "information" we often get from retailers is.

Anyway, did you know that MGS: Rising is coming out next March? Like, 2010?
