A decent game that has good first week sales ranging from 100k to 300k first week worldwide and have legs for the next two months or so. Good sales could also be a establish franchise selling like 1 million to 3 million copies first week or second week worldwide.

Deends on how much money goes into making the game. Expensive and very hyped games usually need to do better than 1 mil to actually make a good profit.

Depends on the game, but if anything at least breaks a million, those a great sales for me.

Although, what counts more is if they cover all the costs and make a profit.

It really does depend all on the game. Boom Blox is going to pass 1 million soon, and that's awesome sales for that game. Now if Super Mario Galaxy or Halo 3 were out for a year and hadn't yet crossed 1 million, that would be beyond terrible.

It varies from game to game.

Few games have good sales, period.  Only 20% of games that make it to market actually make a profit.  The other 80% either lose money ot break even.  If you include games that start production, but never make it to market, the profitable games drop to 4%.
