If you choose not to play RE4 from fear of going to hell, you are going about it the wrong way.

| Apostrovich said: Ah. So, people send themselves to hell. That mean Buddhists go to hell? And Taoists? And Hindus? They have just as much faith in their religion as you. You can't both be right, but none of you can prove squat. I'm going to live my life exactly the way I feel like. If it turns out there IS a god, and he IS a douche and sends me to hell for no good reason, then at least I'll be where I belong. Edit---Not just waking, actually. It bleeds into my dreams as well. |
Hey no ones trying to force you into believing in God so first of all you should calm down (it seems as if you are getting defensive over living your life "exactly the way you feel like", which no one can stop you from doing).
anyways, to answer your question, yes i'm pretty sure there are buddhists and taoists, hindus and what other religious group that go to hell, that is certain. but then you talk about how we have the same amount of faith in what we believe in and that we can't prove anything and yet somehow you exclude yourself from what you just said? Unless you can prove that there isn't a God and all are wrong than there is no point in saying that some of us may be wrong and that we can't prove anything.

I'm an atheist, that means I subscribe to 0% of any religious thinking. And since religious people in general are the ones that believe in god/gods, they are the ones with the burden of proof, not me. I don't believe anything spiritually, so I have nothing to prove. Personally, I like this quote, it sums up religion for me nicely.
"Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both willing and able? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him god?"
Epicurus
My point was that all religions believe totally different things and none of them have any evidence whatsoever to support their claims. What strikes me as strange is that people are able to believe their own religion, which has no evidence, and not believe other religions, which have exactly equal evidence. Zero. I believe only that which there is evidence for, therefore I can prove whatever I believe.
Believe me, if there was a god, and he came to me and said "I am the lord thy god" and did something or said something that proved it, which wouldn't be hard, especially for god, I would be a christian. But he hasn't, and he's not going to. Supposedly god has a plan for everyone, right? Apparently "his" plan for me is for me not to believe in him and then for me to go to hell, if he exists, and who am I to fight that?
And I didn't say some of you were wrong. I said if any of you are right, all the rest are wrong. Be funny if instead of going to heaven you got reincarnated as a proboscis monkey. Or better yet, if the only real religion was one that hasn't been discovered. Then EVERYBODY goes to hell.

Religion is more of a communtiy, and guidlines. Its about a personal relationship with God. I aksed baout religons, becuase it would be guidlines. Also earth is basically a test with endless temptations. God is able to stop evil. There is evil becue there is evil in the hearts of man. If you look to God with love and hope to rid yourself of evil, you go to heaven. How do you do that? That depends on your religion. Crristains belive you ask God to simply forgive oyu for your sins, and then try to act christlike. Catholics belive you must do moe ritualistic things, confess to a priest, atonefor your sins through acts/purgatory ect.
But I think a reliougs debae is kinda pointless. Could this thread be locked please? I've got my answer. Thanks everyone :)
rickthestick2, just condemned me to hell :-p

Don't worry only God can do that (or can saint Peter keep you out of heaven? I don't fully understand that)
If you seek a relationship with God, he will help you :D
Then your church or temple of whatever can help you learn how to act true to your faith, and provide a community of loving support that will help you become a better person.

Lol @ methodists.
Convert to Catholicism, nobody except people in the Vatican actually follow the dogma. ;)

Wow isn't your religion cheerful. My one is far more modern day friendly, our heaven has stripper factories AND beer volcanos.
