Forums - Sales Discussion - If vgchartz is really vg charts, also vg chartz must do it seriously

For Japan and america we have hardware and software charts. For the pal territory, we have only hardware charts, and no software charts.

But software charts exist, by gfk and chart track, so if vgchartz is really vg charts, we must post seriously these charts if they are available.

For this week, i think, we have all the thread, and i think we must respect the territory defined by ioi:

UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Australia, Other europe.

For this week, all the thread exist, and it will be good, if every week, we make all the thread seriously.

I give hier the complete list of the thread, and the better link i find do do these thread:

1) UK thread:

http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=7464

the links:

http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110015

http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110032

But we could post the charts for each console if we want, they are available on the website of chart track, with full price and budget price (it's a long work obiously, but if one person do the job, just this job, it's possible)

2) French thread :

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=7728&start=0#end

the links:

http://www.sell.fr/spip.php?article57

http://www.gamekult.com/blog/marchiavel/

Note that, we have only this week the charts for the week ending 9 september, because in france, it's very hard to obtain the charts, and there is only one television channel (mcm) which give the charts with a big delay.

I 'm agree to post these charts every week.

3) Germany thread:

For the charts for each consoles (Warning, it's hard to make a copy of these charts, why i don't make it this week):

http://www.4players.de/4players.php/spielinfonews/PC-CDROM/3937/122849/Verkaufscharts_Deutschland.html

Note that for these charts (the sixth last link except the link at consolewars, which are official link), this is the same link for every week, and so the old charts are replace by the new charts, so we must copy them when they are available.

5) Italy thread:

http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?start=50&id=5729

It's prosugno360 which give the charts every week with the numbers, these charts come from gfk, and he give rounded numbers.

Link for gfk charts with different sku of a game not together (so it's not really the top we want, but it's posted every week by lo statistico):

http://www.forumeye.it/invision/index.php?s=16adcb0ac3636828049ef52a3753c504&showtopic=394628&st=10

Link for gfk charts with different sku of a game together (it's the top we want, posted by gorla5 in the begin of the thread if it's him which begin the thread):

http://www.forumeye.it/invision/index.php?s=c2f9ec3ac6ae4c50d1657dfaede6257a&showtopic=439975

Link for nielsen charts:

http://www.multiplayer.it/notizia.php?id=54260

6) Scandinavia thread:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=7612&start=0#end

the links

For sweden charts:

http://www.mdts.se/ (official link)

http://loading.se/news.php?pub_id=885 (a link where it is easy to make a copy)

For finnish charts :

http://www.figma.fi/lista.htm (official link, but not always updated)

http://plaza.fi/edome/suomen-top-10/

For norway :

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp20konsoll.hbs

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp10handholdt.hbs

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp10pc.hbs

But those links are not very good because they only give the lastest charts available. To obtain the charts we want:

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp20konsoll.hbs?liste=2&uke=25&aar=2008

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp10handholdt.hbs?liste=3&uke=25&aar=2008

http://www.vg.no/spill/topp10pc.hbs?liste=1&uke=25&aar=2008

The links posted above give the charts for the week 23 of 2008, and have been published during the week 25, so it is easy to understand what change to obtain for example the charts for the week 30 posted during the week 32.

7) Australia thread:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=7569&start=0#end

the link:

But neos, give image which is more pretty, but the dates change. I think, he will solve the problem.

At this link, we have the images of neos which dates change every week, it's interesting because we can copy them every week and have the charts:

link at gfk:

For the other country in other europe, if it exist more charts, it's intersting, but i have no idea of what we can found.

Conclusion:

If vgchartz is really vg charts, i think we must post these charts every week, the most seriously as possible. But, it's a long work, and i have search all the info i can find, to present you this thread, and the famous 8 thread (which are already do, for certain, by other vgchartz user).

There is 8 thread to do.

It will be good if 8 or more for the last thread vgchartz user help to make these 8 thread every week. I give all the official link i know in this thread, so it's not as hard as that. Certain link miss. I expect, we will find all the link to do this job greatly, and also, the vgchartz website will really be the vg charts website, we dream, and i'm sure, this is this website ioi want, and i expect all we want.

I 'm agree, to post you the french charts every week.

We need your help for all the other charts.

Around the Network

I was going to say really bad things about the site on another thread for those reasons. Vgchartz ranking is dropping like a rock.

mM

well if all you mean is to post gfk etc charts as threads then i say yes, excellent, do it....

i thought at first you meant for ioi to put up software charts mirroring those charts, which is against the point of vgchartz, that being to provide sales estimates based on iois own sources, not copied from some company. i would imagine the reason for only hardware numbers in others at the moment is iois inability to be more than one person.... Europe is a larger and more complex place than America and Japan put together. But posting threads for each region every weeks sounds like a great idea, do those 8 sites you linked update each week?... if so then most of Eu sales will be more frequent than NPD... such a big company could easily have weekly numbers.

+1 for TWroO.

Overall, lombard2578 you should ask to ioi to DIRECTLY be involved in the site functionnement.

I m sure you would be a great partner with him.

Ask him !

Time to Work !

^ i never get that, is +1 for me a good thing?

Around the Network

+1 is good....but +10 is better.

+100 for etecoon

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

One thing I have learned from my association with Vgchartz is that, Vgchartz guards its independence very fiercely. Vgchartz gathers its software and hardware numbers from N.A and Japan though its own surveys and sampling methods independent of NPD and Media Create/Famitsu/Enterbrain respectively.
Hence, NPD cannot stop VGchartz from publishing their numbers.

So go ahead post weekly threads about E.U S/W sales. Unless VGC can get a team assembled in E.U that agrees to take care of their surveys and sampling, we should take solace from the H/W numbers.

Unlike N.A & Japan, E.U is a huge mixture of different countries, cultures and regions that will leave any analyst stumped.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

Actually I think it becomes a little a chaotic with all those charts on forum. Its not easy to find one you are intersted in (especially if you are looking for not an actual chart but one from the past) and I think that it would be better if there is a place outside forum where those charts would be posted systematicly.

I wanted alsto to say that I appreciate lombard (and other users) works on finding and posting all those charts. Forum maybe is not the best place for them but for now I think it's the only one where charts can be posted.

For now you guy should put all those charts in one thread each week, it is pretty crazy having a new thread for each region each week and its way easier to find and compare info it is all in one spot.
