´m spanish, (so sorry about my english) and i can say that Spain is the european Japan for microsoft; ok, maybe not that bad...

The problem is that people here , dont WANT to see beyond what the tv show. I can assure you, that since march 2007 we had a lot of Playstation Ads; I go to the University, and all my classmates were talking about the playstation 3 (before the playstation 3 launch), some of then didn´t even know about Halo, but all of them say the same: playstation 3 it´s going to be incredible, like seeing a photograph, the Xbox it´s rubbish, etc.

Well i can assure you that they would put their playstation 3 in their old crt tvs with composite cables, expecting that the high definition it´s a playstation 3 feature(don´t ask them about a high definition tv, please), like they saw in a comercial ( experience the high definition with the playstation 3 and sony bravia tvs in; later Fernando Alonso, a famous F1 pilot, play with a playstation 3 and a f1 game appear on the tv = people want a ps3)

the problem is, that my friends are not a minority, In spain there are many ignorant people (regarding technology) and Sony have a powerful marketing; it´s not that spain hates Microsoft, the problem is that spain loves too much Sony to see beyond, only the wii is fighting for the hegemony, and you know what? there are even more ads about the wii than that the ps3;and the last week, there were a LOT of Heavenly sword publicity. For the xbox, almost none (only for launch and gears of war, and the launch one was awful) Get you own conclusions.

By the way i have the wii , the xbox and the ps3, and i love them all, what i dont like is the fanatism towards Sony by an horde of people who doesn´t even know the games of the PLaystation 3 (of course, there are exceptions), the difference with japan, is that japan at least know about what they talk

 spanish gave up on iraq and have a law for gays marriage and a law against slim dresses because their woman are all fat...

after this i suspect they don't understand also about games...
