Forums - Gaming - Square Enix: 'No chance' 360 will compromise PS3 FFXIII.

FF legend and XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has told VideoGamer.com that the development team has not had to make any concessions for the Xbox 360 port.

Final Fantasy XIII is due out on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 simultaneously in North America and Europe sometime in 2010. However, Square Enix has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version will be a port of the PS3 version.

Overnight US website Giant Bomb brought word that development of the Xbox 360 version of hotly anticipated JRPG only began once the recent Japan-exclusive PS3 demo was released in April.

Some fans have expressed concern that content may be left out of both versions of the game due to DVD storage limitations.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Kitase dispelled that myth. He said: “The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations. For example, right now we’re working on the PS3 version first, and once we’ve completed that we’ll really know how much game there will be to fit onto the Xbox 360 discs.

“So we don’t know how many discs it’ll be housed on for 360, but there won’t be a chance that we’ll compromise anything because, oh it didn’t fit in the 360 discs so we’ll have to take it out of the PS3 version, or vice versa.”

Final Fantasy XIII is looking stupendously good. We’ll have a first-look preview from E3 for you tomorrow.

Haven't they already said no Japanese language track for PS3, which would have been there if not for the 360 version

Well you know, it's already maxing out the ps3 (yeah right) so no chance of it compromising it.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

how important is jp language track in NA and Others anyway? can you tell me your rough estimate of how many people actuall prefer and understood that language. thanks

@adobo

I know, I don't understand this fascination for JAPANESE language tracks unless you are fluent in it

if you want to play game & look at the subtitles the whole time....enjoy yourself.....but to me its just torture

Not sure about everyone else, but since I'm an Anime buff I like using the jp language...and people liked the Valkyria Chronicals' Dual language so...

They haven't confirmed about Japanese voices on the PS3 version.
As for how many actually want it, some do and I don't see a reason to deny it to them, especially since they already acknowledged that some people obviously want it, otherwise they wouldn't have raised the question at all.

Best decision is keeping Japanese track on PS3, making it available for download on the xbox360 and almost everybody's happy (except for the Arcade owners).

You don't have to be fluent in Japanese to enjoy listening to it with subs. Subs are a torture to some, but others are completely used to them. And a lot of Europeans are very used to them.

darthdevidem01@ That is exactly what we want (the enjoying ourselves bit, not you being tortured). The games where you're being tortured that way are very very few, actually with the exception of Guilty Gear (which doesn't have much talk in it) and the upcoming Muramasa, I can't think of others.

Even if it did/do they wouldn't say it out loud

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
