I like grinding because I like to play the game.
It's because fights don't take fifteen minutes including the loading.
"Walking in the tall grass, tall grass, tall grass, OMG there's a Pidgey, Pikachu THUNDERBOLT, it's dead got experience learned a new move carry on."
I can whole-heartedly say that I adore grinding in Tales of games, as in Star Ocean, and Persona.
Heck, I have nothing against grnding at all.

I don't mind grinding in any game. I consider it a necessary part of any game. I'd spend entire nights - totaling probably 20 or 30 hours per playthrough - in DQVIII searching for Metal King Slimes. Just seeing one was a joy on it's own. If they hung around long enough to get an attack off, bonus! :P

It's all about the game.
I hardly ever grind in pokemon but I hate battleing the Elite 4 so much grinding. Its too much and too long

I remember doing that exact same thing for DQIV.
OT: I don't mind grinding myself for any game really, unless the battles are long and boring. Then I find it a chore, and usually try and finish the game as quickly as I can and get it over with. No side quests, no enjoying talking to the NPC's, or delving further into the game.
pokemon is the only series where us nerds can take it on the go and battle other nerds for nerd supremacy :D in that sense it's a badge of honor to grind.
