Wait, so Halo 3's graphics are being defended by people who have actually played the game??

Well obviously those people are totally biased, way to discredit them all so swiftly.

The graphics are fantastic, but being that this is the flagship title for the 360; I expected more.

the game is gorgous, the only thing that is not on par is the human faces design, everything else im impressed with beyond belief

seriously, you guys suspect the best looking game ever, NO? then stop whinning, im so danm sick of hearing of every little detail that needs to be brought down upon it.

Seriously, do we need to bring up problems with Mario, with zelda, with God of war, bioshock, and all the huge franchises, or is this going to be just more halo bashing?



                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

What is wrong with twestern liking the look of Metroid Prime 3 better than Halo 3?

In some areas I feel as though the architecture design is out of this world... better than stuff you see in Lord of the Rings and The Matrix... especially in Sky World... that is something that requires artistic talent rather than raw horsepower. It looks really alien and mystical and like a fantasy 'metroid' world.

On the other hand Halo 3's areas are fairly generic space ship out door areas which DO look incredibly good to me but artistically it isn't the same. I think a lot of people have a hard time grasping that concept.

I have a feeling that's what twestern meant...

You know I would almost agree about MP3 from some areas however Samus's stupid looking arm cannon takes up so much of the screen that it ruins everything for me... fuk why couldn't retro have re-designed it a little with the changing suits or something... YAY lets have glowing coloured lines on the blaster... it looks crap they should have made it look so much better

Gamespot changes their screens in photoshop to make the old ones look worse, they do this with all their comparisons. I just played Halo1 and Halo2 the other day and they look alot better then the shots they showed, in most parts they look like the Halo3 shots.

 Have you even played any of the games they showed when they do their comparisons.  They do it all the time with the 360/PS3, all their games look like shit in the screens.  I have played every PS3 game they have showed in the comparison and the games look alot better then what they show.

I only beat them both on legendary :(

For some reason, people always think games look better than they remember. But hey, if you think GS photoshopped those images for no apparent reason, then go ahead. Just keep in mind that those halo 1 and 2 screens look just like what you'll find on every other gaming site - which means everyone is in on this scam.

My gosh you certainly take the cake dude...

 

The comparison shots look so different because of RESOLUTION difference in Halo 1, 2 and 3 not 'doctoring'.  It's a bit cheap that they 'zoomed in' on the Halo 1 shots to make them look low res.

 

Things that were created for CRT SD televisions of course will look better on your TV than they will on your computer monitor... *rolls eyes*

The complaints comes from the people that were saying XB360 is better than any other consoles because all games are HD and look better than on any other consoles.
When their biggest game, Halo 3, is not even HD (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=12821), it shows how much foolish they are. So you bet they're not pleased, that's all.

Now I don't care about HD, and they shouldn't either. Serves them well, hope they understand, finally.
That Halo 3 looks good or not depends on your taste, not on its screen resolution.

I'd have to go with John Lucas here. From what I've seen the graphics varies from "just good" to "amazing". The Halo fans got what they wanted, and then some.

I'm not a member of the Halo cult, but I sure can enjoy just watching someone else playing it. For a while, at least.

Edit: Halo 3 that is. Halo 1 had much too low framerate for me.
