I always laugh when i read Tretton's view on exclusive titles and their securing. This is buisness, and here, anything goes ;). To tell the truth i wouldn't mind if those two games went multi. It would be only Sony's fault for letting that happen.

I still can't see it. Unless SE and Konami have been working secretly on the 360 versions, then I reckon we won't see 360 versions anytime soon.

As Yojimbo stated, MGS4 is out March 2008 and FFXIII will be very late 2008 or early 2009. MGS4 has turned into the game that everyone wants to play. It's been up there as one of the most highly anticipated games for a while now. By the time it's released there could be anywhere from 7-10m PS3 owners worldwide and this will grow as the game sells. Remember MGS3 sold under 4m and if Resistance can sell 1.5-2m so far, then I think MGS4 could sell at least double that over time. Also, this is the last MGS in the series as well.

FFXIII when it's released, could be to a 15-20m PS3 user base and seeing as FF are made every 2/3 years, the end of 2008, beginning of 2009 would be right and a new game, if they make it wouldn't be out until 2011/2012. They would sell well on the PS3 as well.

Both MGS and FF games perform well in Japan (especially FF games), so if it appeared on the 360, they would lose out on 1m-2m sales in Japan. I just don't see the point in making these games for the 360, a machine that currently has under 500k users in Japan after nearly 2 years.

As for MGS4, it aint happenin xbots

It specifically stated Final Fantasy Versus XIII, not Final Fantasy XIII!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

well, I don't really care ,if they go multi or not anymore (although it would be bad for my favorite console in this gens console war ) , but at least I can be 100% sure ,that I will be able to play both titles on my console of choice and in the way they were meant to be

You munchkin, there's no logic in what you just wrote. How can they lose anything if instead of releasing a game on one console they release it on two? Furthermore, so what if they don't sell too much in Japan? They have USA and Europe, and that is where the difference will be evident as far as sales go

@ Goddbless)

Versus had the "for PS3 only" mark at the end aswell - read it up on IGN , GameSpot or whereever you want to

Oh i agree that we wont see MGS4 on 360 day and date of the PS3 version, but I also firmly believe it will come later. Unless Sony pay for development in direct violation of their policy, Konami can't make a satisfactory profit on the PS3 user base, even if it lifts by 5 million or so by march. But yeah like I said, FFXIII wont come to 360. Ive never played a final fantasy game, but i'd give this one a try if it came over. Ive got a mate that swears by the. He wants to play Lost Odyssey really bad but he cant buy a 360 cause he needs a PS3 to play FFXIII. Losing these two titles wouldn't be a stake in the heart for Sony by any means, but it would definitely help Microsoft, especially if FFXIII were to release DAY AND DATE with the 360 in 2009. If the only significant disadvantage of a 360 version was multiple disks, people would flock to the cheaper system.

@ starcraft )

Tretton is the president and CEO of SCEA - the CEO for SCEJ is Kazuo Hirai and he may have a different approach to "securing exclusives" , because all 3 divisions act largely independend from one another

Fair enough. But Tretton is a high-ranking Sony executive that made a ridiculous (false) statement about Sony's stance on exclusivity (cough: Rockstar). Hirai im actually starting to like.
