Now the PSP can't fail anymore. There are simply no areas to fuck it up in anymore, they've all been taken. The sooner Sony retires the PSP, the better.

Bullshit.

In other words you are saying that the sooner Sony cuts one of it's profit sources the better? Damn, you must despise Sony

You should see the PSP Go as a 'business product' rather than one that will please consumers.
Once Sony gets back to profitability, and gets out of the recession (with help by the Go!) then they could launch an awesome PSP 2 with great features etc.

well if it helps them afford a PS3 price cut I'm all for it

It will get them some money, that's for sure, and in this economic climate, any profit is good.

This is dissapointing. One of the reasons why I figured the Go would be better was because of extended battery life, which it doesn't seem to have. I wonder if Sony releases a "PSP Go 2k" if that'll have extended battery life. Oh well, I'll still probably get the Go when the price goes under $200.

if its much lighter must have a smaller battery... they chose one smaller for the weight and price IMO ... so if they make it to be profitable how is that wrong??? just because they make a effort for the ps3 to make is way to our homes dont make them any different from what they always were, a very expensive brand like many others... apple is expensive... MS is expensive (in the software part, if they sold windows for 20 bucks no one would pirate and they would be much richer)... and sony is and always will be expensive!

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

for sony.. win..

for consumer.. fail..

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

For the amount i carry my 3000 around with me (pretty much all the time), usually in a bag because its too large to fit in my pocket in the summer, i'd be over the moon the get one of these bad boys (PSP Go).

Battery life isn't a problem now, so i doubt it will be a problem with the Go. What are all you guys complaining about. is it a problem with any of the other models? why would it be a problem now?

Not exactly happy with the price though, £230 is a little steep.

Going to New York in October though, might pick one up at duty free on the way back. does anyone know if there will be compatability problems with the UK?

I don't think it will be £230, but I fear issues over region incompatibility. Currently premium DLC seems to be region locked, so you can only buy DLC for your Asian Burnout Paradise from an Asian PSN store. So if you did want to buy a foreign model, you would have to work out some way of downloading from the US store, be that through setting up a US credit card, or through stocking up on PSN vouchers in the US. However, Sony have not said anything official, so this is just speculation. Currently there is no region lock on UMDs, I have a few US games, but there is on movies, but I don't know about downloaded games on PSP

as a true Sony supporter, it is too much
the removal of the umd drive was the first big let down....$250 price tag was the second, and now the battery life 3-5 hrs...wtf ???
and also the camera is not attachable to the psp go because there isnt a usb component (mini-b plug i think it is called)...

all in all, i would get the system after 3 or 4 months on the market or so
i would just like the psp 1000 ten times better

You do realise the 3000 will still stay on shelves? And if you want to stick with UMD, why would you even be interested in this model, though yes, the removal of the USB slot is quite annoying, but that is because they have to squeeze everything in, and having that single slot on the bottom helps that
