I'd buy it because I'm a Final Fantasy fan and graphics whore so that'd be right up my ally.

Is it necessary? No

The graphics were not to bad, I mean it was the PS2 and no PS2 game should get remade unless its the next generation.

PS1 on the other hand had bad graphics so there are many games that deserve it more like FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX etc

I would much rather see a remake of ix. X just was not that good and does not need to be remade anytime soon. Maybe on the PlayStation 5 it would make sense to remake X

No way -- what would make it better than the current version on PS2?

SE should remake FFVII / FFVIII / FFIX first! At least then we can get some benefits outside graphics like voice acting, additional content, etc.
