this thread is so very poor on many, many levels.

1. we're only 3/4 years into this gen so we could expect maybe 4 more years yet and that means alot of games still to come

2. wii sports should be in the top 3 for most influential games so far this gen as it propelled the wii into 50m homes so far which no game (not even halo 3) has achieved yet

3. wii fit is a cultural phenomenon which has sold nearly as many units as the ps3

Let me put together a better list:

10. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP)
The best selling PSP Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter revived the PSP in Japan, also thanks to a slowing down DS and very low console sales.

9. Guitar Hero III (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii)
The Guitar Hero that became most well known. Guitar Hero has ever since been a cultural phenomenom.

8. Mario Kart Wii (Wii)
The ultimate Wii bridge game. Actually succesful enough to sell on par with Wii Fit at some times.

7. NEW Super Mario Bros. (DS)
The revival of 2D Mario. Even though the game wasn't as good as, say, SMB3 or SMW, it still went on to sell over 15 million copies. This shows how powerful 2D Mario is.

6. Final Fantasy III (DS)
I believe the first big selling DS RPG. After this, the DS practically became one of the best RPG systems in history, up there with the SNES and the PS2.

5. Nintendogs (DS)
The first big expanded audience game on DS. The ressurection of virtual pets sold around 20 million copies(and is still selling!), and spawned the infamous ''Z'' series of Ubisoft.

4. Brain Age (DS)
The other big DS expanded audience game that became the face of the handheld for many people and spawned many clones in the newborn ''brain gymnastics''-genre.

3. Wii Play (Wii)
The first minigame-compilation on Wii. Nuff said.

2. Wii Fit (Wii)
The Second Coming in many ways. Gave the Wii new impulses, became a cultural phenomenom and is currently selling as if it were a console of its own.

Currently the best selling game ever, Wii Sports MADE the Wii. Without Wii Sports, the Wii wouldn't have been this big by far. This game will be to the Wii and its successors what Super Mario Bros. was for the NES and everything that came after.

and i just remembered kojima says he was influenced by halo 3, mass effect and the orang box xD

lol it's funny that you placed Uncharted on that list - this is the kind of game that simply copied Tomb Raider and added few Gears of War things here and there. the also Wii Sports should be on this list just like Wii Fit those to games changed everything and thanks to them MS and Sony made their own motion controlers so.
my list would be more like this(excluding handhelds) in no particular order:
LBP,
Gears of War,
Halo 3,
CoD 4,
Mario Kart,
Wii Sports,
Wii Fit,
Bioshock,
Rock Band - more influencial than GH this gen introduced drums, guitar and mic combo,
Saints Row - yes it's one of the most influential games since this was pretty much the first sandbox title this gen(right now we are flooded with those games) that also was the first to have fully customizable character,
MGS4 is a good game but it didn't influenced anything(same goes to Uncharted and Twilight Princess).

i predict this thread will be most influential to Montana when he will start having drinking problems - i know i would.

Wow, "influential" is not the same as the best games of the generation, which is what this list looks like. Half of the games you listed haven't influenced anything. As mentioned many times Wii Sports and Wii Fit need to be at the top of the list. LBP, CoD4 and Rock Band should be there as well. Gears of War has been influential. But Twilight Princess, Uncharted, MGS4 and Halo 3 haven't really been influential at all IMO...they are just great games.
