Joe, Sony actually has a larger series of 1st party developer studios ( SCEWWS) than Nintendo does.
Also, they've developed more games in the first 2.5 years on Wii than they did for N64 and GC.

Game Freak is most likely working on Pokemon Heart of Gold/Silver remakes and the new Mystery Dungeon game. If Sora was making the next smash bros game which I doubt, HAL labs would be in there too. The Zelda teams are working on Zelda Wii and Zelda Spirit Tracks And the Pikmin team is working on Pikmin 3 So what does that leave? |
I didn't include GameFreak in the number of titles being hidden by Nintendo. The new Zelda title and RPG from Monolith have not actually been shown yet. The new Pikmin game has also not been formally shown and is also their for being hidden. If you exclude Pikmin 3 and the new Zelda then we still have at least 12 projects that are unknown.
That leaves 12 games that are unknow, at least twelve. During the GameCube generation Nintendo for about 2 years released at least one title each month. That means Nintendo announced a minimum of 12 internal games each year at/by E3. But for the last 2 years Nintendo has only announced 4 to 5 new internal games at each years E3. That is less then half of Nintendo's capacity.
I urge you to wonder where are all these unknown projects?, Is Nintendo gearing up for the next generation?, are they holding back to give third parties free rein, Is Nintendo waiting for Wii sales to lull before revealiving all the games they've been working on for the last two years?

And Nintendo did NOT release a new game every month on the GameCube, lol, your memory is some what hazy if you think that was the case.
Nintendo also announced yesterday that there's a program coming out called Nintendo DS Classroom for Japan which is basically Brain Training taken to the next level:

So that could be another thing.
Yes but he is referring to Nintendo's internal development teams.

I'd love to say Kid Icarus but sadly it looks like there won't be a new KI game..

Where are all of Nintendo's games hiding? In Miyamoto's basement.... In a lock box.
