I think "The Legend of Zelda" might be the whole title. And I like that picture for boxart.

It's actually funny that you mention that, because right after I completed Twilight Princess two years ago, I said to myself that now that the last Zelda as we know it is completed, they will need to go back to the roots of the whole franchise. What's with the Triforce? And Zelda? The Master Sword? I want all those questions answered, even go as far back to their whole creation (maybe not Zelda... but maybe it could be a "title" to have or something like that).

I suggested that the story should involve Link touching the Triforce, or the Triforce having a huge role in the game or something like that. Thus, why it should be called The Legend of Zelda. Cool idea, eh? =P

I think thats a great idea a will be really successful... like the movie "Star Trek" was seen by a lot more than just fans of the series.. it was more accessible without really being dumbed down. I hope that for Zelda (although not in space!)

Still, it doesn't matter, because it would still make sense with my other theory: The Wii is this generation's NES! I believe Nintendo is actually "training" the casual audience into gaming so that for the next generation, they will try to develop more complicated games for the newer crowd. This is also why I believe we've been seeing reimagining of franchises such as Punch-Out!!, Metroid (Metroid: Other M) and the good old Mario platformers (New Super Mario Bros. Wii).

Wouldn't it be unbelievable epic if the new Zelda was just named "The Legend of Zelda" ? It would be a reboot of the franchise, something like Zelda: Origins. I'd jizz my pants if that was the direction they'd take.
