Forums - Nintendo - New Super Mario Bros pushing limits of wii.

i'm not saying they shouldn't put it in there but other companies don't get criticized for not having local co-op and that is far more annoying.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

jayderyu, just watch the water in Sunshine... ;)

They are very competent.

And the sentence was added by the bloger. Miyamoto didn't say that ;)

So two completely different bloggers from different websites made up the same thing?   No...

Don't know. Probably.

BTW... I love this. If someone says "this game is pushing PS3", is awesome regardless. If it's Wii... LOL No comments

Miyamoto says that every project they do pushes the wiis limits. That's what they do.

According to that,  Miyamoto doesn't really know what is going on or isn't really telling the whole truth.

Thanks for giving us the actual information, btw!

I can't imagine how Brawl can have online but not this game, but oh well.

That may be why there is no on line. Given a choice between bad and none, I would take none.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

You're welcome.

Yeah, if you go earlier in the thread, you'll see I don't buy it either.  I just think they are trying to do a quick game...

plus there's always room for NSMBWii 2.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Personally, I could care less about online. But it would be nice for those that are interested in it.

It's a let down that it won't have online. Local Co-op is of course preferable, but technology and expectations have moved past such simple features. If I buy a car I expect Air conditioning and automatic windows. But what's wrong with having rolldown windows if you have AC? BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING 2009 THAT'S WHY.

If I can't get 3 other people to co-ordinate their schedules to play Mario Bros, but I want to play some co-op action I should have the ability to hop online and play some 4 player co-op. Hell alot of Emulators add that support to old SNES games, and yet a multi-billion dollar corporation doesn't feel that such a feature is necessary or would be appreciated? Sometimes (often times) Nintendo is too damn conservative for their own good. But of course the die hard will defend it as a brilliant decision, it's only the sony fanboys complaining out of jealous spite, and you must be a total pathetic loser if you don't play local co-op 'M I RITE???

Excellent post.  I am the biggest Nintendo fan but find it shocking how other Nintendo fans on this site defend every single decision Nintendo makes without exception.

God.. it's like some of you people don't have friends to play this with..

Some of us have buy lives and jobs and getting 4 friends together to play a game is impractical to put it lightly, online solves all this.

Nintendo markets to children and housewives though, so I guess they have more time spare.

That, to me, is a sign of the sorry state of life at this time.  You can't meet with actually friends EVER, so you have to play over the Internet.  It used to be friends are people you met with in real life.

If my friends and I have free time we go out to the pub or something, we don't sit indoors and play video games.  Sitting indoors playing games is for when we don't have time to group up.   Unfortunaly the Wii time and time again keeps letting us down.

Yep. We can see all Ninty fans crying... LOL

They already informed you, but I'll do it again:

[7:30] Apparently Miyamoto's comments were not entirely translated.

[7:31] What he really said was that hardware has limited all developers since the 8-bit days, and it's a constant struggle for everyone.

[7:31] With that footnote, Miyamoto urges atendees to play Wii Sports Resort.

Doesn't bother me considering this is a game that I would rather play with friends in the same room rather than hearing them talking on the Wii Mic (also only one person can say something at a time on Mic limiting the ability for multiple people to say something at once which is bound to happen in this game). I associate Mario platform games by playing with people in the same room. Maybe because I grew up during NES days but I really don't care that it isn't online. I am sure the next system they will include that option though.  Also, lag wouldn't be too fun for a platformer, you would just have a bunch of people bitching about how the lag made them die even if it didn't.  If it was done lag free then it would be fine but I have a feeling that even with a very good connection if someone has a crappy connection that would cause lag for everyone or it would be like SSBB lag which just doesn't feel right after playing offline.

Honestly? This pushing Wii limits?
