Forums - Sony - Sony once again copies Nintendo

Gaming is a technology driven medium, and technology always has been, and alway will be, driven by building on what others have done before you.

And its not like Nintendo wasn't cribbing Little Big Planet's user created content...:D

well.... in my opinion is not just SONY. everyone copies everyone.

I use recipes sometimes. I have no shame, no dignity, no creativity. OP is most likely included.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Well even though Im not too thrilled about the motion controls I have said before that in order for PS3 to remain competetive they have to start appealing to the casual market.... Thats why they showed that pink Hannah Montana PSP and thats why they did that motion control thing..... and thats why Microsoft did that motion control camera. They both want a piece of Nintendo's market which they can do. On the other hand, Nintendo cant take away from 360's or PS3's hardcore gamer market because the Wii does not appeal to the hardcore gamers..... So who wins here in the future? The 360 and PS3 win by taking a piece of the Wii pie.

So much downplaying in this thread. It hurts!

Sony and MS are predictable, and so are you fanboys! :

And what the hell did Microsoft do?
Jesus.

Microsoft aquired the company who actually pefected motion sensing. Sonys eye toy was a joke and the only way to make it truly work was to copy the Wii's wand. I like it to tell you the truth, but that doesn't change the fact. Microsoft has the most unique motion sensor.

Did you misspell "perfected" on purpose because Microsoft's motion sensing is FAR from perfect, or because you really think this:  and  is "perfect" and you just happened to misspell it by mistake????

Project Natal has voice recognition technology as well as the ability to project foward-backward movements on screen, but at the end of the day, it's fuction is still based on capturing a specific object via camera and simulating the shape's actions on the screen... which is what the Eyetoy did first.... which is the same in regards to the Wiimote and the Sony motion stick..... which means they copied each other.

Further more, I'd like to add that everyone copies each other. That's how technology works, you look at a previous invention and attempt to improve upon it inorder to try and make it better than before.

Sony copies Nintendo with the cross button layout of the SNES controller. Then the analog and rumble of the N64 controller. Then belatedly adds motion controls to the Sixaxis after Nintendo announced motion controls. Now they are blatantly copying the Wii remote with their colored ice cream cone controller.

Sony has no shame, no dignity, no creativity.

there were analog sticks on game console controls in 1982 well before n64

Are you sure those are analog, or are they digital (on/off only)?
