Anyone complaining about a new golden sun or mario galaxy are dead to me.

Well, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be great with the new Yoshi gameplay elements for sure.

...But the question remains: Could it have been something entirely new? In the meantime, I guess we'll be getting another Mario Galaxy game.

I understand that Nintendo's been taking their series in a lot of new directions in the past five or seven years, but I think they're allowed one direct sequel to a console Mario platformer.

Not sure if this was pointed out but Metroid M is 2010.

But I agree with you, noone will ever be satisfied, even Nintendo fans.

That's what gives opposing fanboys ammunition, they can feed off the fact that Nintendo (or MS or Sony) will never be able to do enough to satisfy everyone, and they make it a big issue even though it only really bothers a minority.

Don't forget Red-Steel 2 which is shaping up nicely.

Sure, and the gameplay for that direction is quite good too (gravity puzzles, space travelling, etc.). I would have been sad if there would have been a sequel at the time of Super Mario Sunshine (it wasn't bad though)! xD

Seriously, I'm glad Nintendo doesn't listen to basement dwellers or they be run into the ground by now.

Some people really need to take chill pills and try to analyze what's been going on recently. Everyone seems to be really excited, and it's understandable, but I guess it's time to get back to Earth now! o_O

The fun is that they take their different tastes and segue that into hate. Honest opinions and angry snark are different things.

IMO Nintendo did themselves a disservice by making two Mario games which seems to sprea the improvements too thin.  Had they combined the concepts and made a 3D Mario with 4 player coop gameplay, they would be seen as far more innovative.
