Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo + Team Ninja: New Metroid

I am a great Metroid fan and I'll buy this game in the first day. However, I don't think it will be a good Metroid game, as I am sure they will skip exploration for more fighting. Still, it will be a hell of an action game, as Team Ninja is as good as it gets to this kind of game.

HA! I just realized Adam Malkovich is ALIVE in the trailer ..that or it's a flashback (the guy who says "any objections Lady?")

I think that this game looks closer to Super Metroid in style and setup (Super Metroid is my favorite game ever) than the Prime trilogy managed so that´s a huge plus in my book.

I believe that there will be alot of exploration in the game, much more than the trailer shows which seems to focus on action. If you remember in Super Metroid there were a lot of action as well. You met enemies almost constantly. So I do get some Super Metroid vibes here, please please be good!

I'm really liking the cute girl with short hair at the beginning. *drooooool*

What game?

Yoshio Sakamoto from Nintendo (director of Metroid on NES and Super Metroid on SNES) is directly involved with this game.

It does look like it is more cinematic and has more flash though ... but really ... what's so bad about that? The franchise needs to evolve, Super Mario 3 didn't have Mario running on 3D spheres in outer space sucking up star bits and triple jumping around ... franchises need to keep evolving.

The way I sorta look at it is ...

Metroid = Original Star Trek

Super Metroid = Star Trek: The Next Generation

Metroid Prime series = Star Trek: Deep Space 9

Metroid Other M = J.J. Abrams Star Trek 2009

Thank God we didn't have to experience Enterprise or Voyager. *shudders*

Definately looking forward to this one! So many games so little money..
