how can it be a significant blow if all people who would buya PS3 for an MGS already bought it with MGS4
FF13 announcement was 100 times more powerful
yet again, I suggest you edit the post with NATAL....that will cause a RISE in Xbox 360 sales MUCH MORE than MGS:R |
Because...losing the MGS franchise as an exclusive to your brand is bigger than one game...obviously. Maybe I should have said "blow to the playstation brand"
Also, the blow came in more than just MGS. It was also due to a strong lineup of games from MS, like L4D2, and Crackdown 2, as well as some interesting new control stuff that most people(Sony fans excluded) liked.
Again, am I wrong, if so how.

I sort of agree with you. They did deal a significant blow, no matter how you want to look at things. The PS3 has essentially no big third party exclusives left at all. All the BEST SELLING PS2 third-party franchises have now gone multiplatform. And let's face it, as much as I love Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted, they are simply no match for Gears of War and Halo. Sony's first and second party developers need to step up their game. Yes, there are a lot of Sony exclusive's still left. But they need a catalyst, something that will get people excited about the PS3 again. Trico is one of my most anticipated games, but it is NOT going to get people excited about the PS3. Neither will MAG or even God of War.
Sony really needs to pull off a flawless E3 conference tomorrow. And by flawless, they need to announce a new franchise that is going to sell 5+ million copies. And no, it can't be Gran Turismo 5 because I don't think that game will do as well as people think it will for PS3 sales.
By the way, I'm not saying that the PS3 is doomed or that it's a sinking ship. But if Sony wants to get any momentum back from Microsoft, they really need to do something big and game changing. Unfortunately, I doubt they have anything that will do it. I guess we'll see tomorrow.
