Kojima will not direct any future MGS game.

He will however still be a producer, much like Miyamoto still is with the Mario and Zelda games. Not really a big deal. Honestly the franchise probably could use a fresh, new director with new ideas.

don't be scared, he'll still look over the project, think of it as a promotion, he'd be doing something like what Miyamoto does, which is to whip people when needed most likely.

Unsure, but I thought it was ironic that he was the one who announced on stage yet not taking part in the development.

Metal gear Rising doesn't matter, the TRUE MGS experience is exclusive to the PLAYSTATION 3

Seriuously, I hope this doesn't mean Konami won't milk the franchise like MS is milking Halo.

I think it's somewhat overblown who the director is. Miyamoto didn't direct Super Mario Galaxy or even Super Mario 64.

He said that after MGS2 also...but...BAM, MGS3.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that MGS:R is essentially MGS5. It's not like they can move forward in time anymore with the series, so they likely went backwards with this one.

and wtf is the point if it's not developed by Kojima? That's like Kingdom Hearts not being developed by Nomura (oh wait....that cell phone game)
