Forums - Microsoft - So since MS' Conference is today Can we let the MGS rumors die painfully?

He will announce MGS6, it will be so good that they wont even bother with making MGS5.

But seriously, I don't think the announcement will be all that great, a portable ops game at best.

With Kojima you never know.

But, if there is an extra game to the PSP one, im betting it will be PS3 exclusive.

Well they have moved it forward 5 minutes for an extra special thing... which I fear will either be Versus XIII or MGS 5... but not long left now!

this metal gear speculation has to end. u like metal gear, i like xbox. but metal gear is only for the ps3 so i got it for the ps3.

People used to say the same thing about GTA, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Tekken, etc. Anything is possible when the first party doesn't publish the franchise.

Those games weren't 50GB big ( not even close ) with 20 minutes cutscenes

There is something called Multiple discs, and compression.

If I remember correctly MGS4's cutscenes are in-engine for the most part. Even if the game is 50 GB (which is not confirmed AFAIK, I've even seen people showing 33 GB of space with a PC BD reader reading the MGS4 disc), that's probably due to uncompressed audio.

If the game gets ported to the 360 (or even PC), the first thing to go will probably be the uncompressed audio. It's useless for the vast majority of gamers, who neither have the correct audio equipment or sensitive enough ears to tell the difference between uncompresed and well-compressed audio.

Wouldnt the right time for this thread be for after the MS conference?

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

apparently this guy doesn't know what compression means.  Lets put it this way if I take a picture on my 8 mega Pixel digital camera and set it to save the photo's in a raw lossless image the file is about 12 MB per picture. By simply saving as a JPEG or other compressed photo it changes the exact photo down to under 1 MB to little to no noticeable difference.
