It involved playing as a lone wandering samurai who encounters a small village, a village torn apart by two warring gangs, as well as a little Meiji government interference behind the scenes. Upon entering the village, you had three days over which to choose your path. You could pick which faction to side with, or help out the innocents being caught in the fray. You could find and upgrade weapons, chat with people all over town, pick fights whenever you wanted, and overall you had a lot of control in what you could do. I absolutely loved the game. A few years later, the Way of the Samurai 2 was released, and while I was a bit late to the party on that one, I still enjoyed it immensley. It was similar in concept to the first, but took place over eight days rather than a mere three. Back when the ps3 was announced in 2005, many games were announced alongside with it, one of which was the Way of the Samurai 3. There were no screens, not even a summary of the game, but I was amped for it just the same, and it was literally one of the reasons I bought a ps3. The game went MIA for a couple of years, and then showed up back in early '08 with a pending release date for Japan. The released screens looked pretty bad, but the series was never known for its graphics, and I was still very excited for the game. It finally released in Japan right around the end of '08, and it was then announced that the game would be multiplat for its western release. Then the western version went MIA, and a 360 version eventually made its way out in Japan. Two days ago, the western version reappeard, and I thought, finally, after four years of anticipation, I might get to play this game. But no. Apparently the game has gone 360 exclusive for NA.

this is pretty close to how i felt when PTO IV was not out on cube, or xbox.... i did buy a ps2 for it, and at first hated it cuase the game was so much more limited then PTO II but in the end war ship gunner made up for it..... so in conclusion i feel your pain.... though i did live on my own at the time thats a bit diffrent i chose between food and games, it just meant 2 months on PBJ sandwiches

Did someone just use price to say they can't justify buying a 360? Well....that's a first. I thought that no matter the cost of the PS3, that logic only applied to that system.
OT: Well...I'm not gonna sell my 360 anymore. I literally sold all my games to Gamestop except Halo 3, and was even considering that because I haven't turned on my 360 in so long, and I haven't been on LIVE in an even longer amount of time. But with this coming, I may just keep it around

You could always do what us mere mortals have been known to do. Sell the old to make way for the new. Your profile says you have ten gaming devices and well over a hundred games. There is no way you are playing all those games, and there is no way you need that many devices. Go to your local small game store, and make use of the trade in policy. You can probably cover the cost in trade in value alone.
Just take your time, and decide what you can part with, and what you no longer need. It isn't like it would be the end of the world. This is what most gamers have had to do since gaming began. New console meant you sold off your old console and old library.
You are looking at drumming up $250. I see a few consoles there that if you still have them can drum up a hundred dollars easily enough, and then the difference can be made in old game trade in. In fact if you have those old consoles you do not need them anymore anyway. Since you can just play the old media or buy digital downloads for newer consoles.

There are a lot of people in his exact same situation who have a 360, but despite "all those gaming devices and games" worth in trade ins "can't justify buying a PS3". Whenever I see that, I think to myself, "You're just telling yourself that because you don't WANT to buy the *other* console" for both the 360 and PS3

I'm a collector. Rather, a video game whore. I never EVER get rid of old games, and I'm always trying to track down older games I missed. Really, its an obsessoin.
For example, I just bought Ape Escape 2/3 on ebay, and I'm trying to track down the first. This is why I bleed money on games lol.
Hell, the only reason I bought my psp was because some guy was trading in a brand new 2000 with a memory card for cash at our store because Best Buy wouldn't let him return them. I gave him $70 for both on the spot. Despite getting such a good deal, that $70 swelled to near $300 within weeks once I bought the 4-5 games I wanted for the platform (and there are still more I'm looking into getting).
I find it very hard to justify buying new consoles at the moment, because it'll only add to my video gaming buying compulsiveness.
