Forums - Sony - PSPGo a no go for Canadians!

Alright with the announcement that PSPGo is going to be fully reliant on downloadable content we Canadians run into a problem. Without a credit card Canadians can't buy online content. While Nintendo and Microsoft sell points cards in Canada, Sony only sells cards in the states. This will make buying PSPGo games nearly impossible for me and many other gamers. The in-accessability of downloadable content could kill the PSPGo in Canada.

I know I've applied for a pile of credit cards so that I can buy online content for my PS3, but so far no luck. So if Sony doesn't change its online store to accompany Canadian's I think PSPGo might be dead of the gate!

They would probably extend the access of cards to different countries.

Same in Middle East.
the solution is to make a US Store.

Here I thought this was more than just about personal credit. Most WoW players even in Canada don't buy the 2 month card. Most still pay by CC. Yes the Points Card does offer more access to more of an audience and it certainly will have a sore spot for Canadians, but not that big.

Here I thought you would be talking about Canada and that it's 10 years behind in regards to wireless and portable adoption technologies. Something more relevant to PSPgo.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I am 99% sure, Sony will start selling cards but you know you can use a bank card, right?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

You can pay for these things with debit cards if you want. In Canada, the Debit card is more popular then the credit card and you can use your debit card to get around these issues. How? You can either use a service like paypal or go to any store and buy a credit card gift certificate at just about any drug store or super market. Anyone can buy them.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

Same here in Europe

I worked at a hotel for years, at least once per day,
I would say, "I need your credit card"
The guest would say, "I don't have one."
Then I would say, "The Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover that you made your reservation with"
"Oh, that's a debit card..."

If it has the Visa logo on it, you can use it like a CC. Why do people still not know this... (No, they are not being smart asses. They really don't understand that their Visa Check Card acts in lieu of a CC.)

And before you ask, if I said, "Credit or Debit card," then every time they would produce an ATM/Debit card without the logo.

Who made them the reservation? I know that these people didn't go online themselves and figure out how to make a reservation.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

joecool: get a prepaid credit card. no approval needed.

seriously though, where the heck are PSN cards? I haven't ever actually seen one.
