never, the truth is alot of core gamers still like WS and WF though getting us to admit it is difficult.

i give up nintendo after E3 2008 TGS 2008
E3 they werent there, and TGS third party wasn't there.
though i still love zelda, waiting for big budget big zelda game.

are you kidding me? nintendo is the whole reason im a gamer. if it weren't for them i wouldn't interested in gameing. im willing to stand by my favorite game company even if this e3 sucks like last year.

Every person is different in exactly how they give up, and more to the point what they exactly view as giving up. I would qualify purchasing a second console as giving up myself. Which is how most members of this community give up. They just silently buy a second console, and usually within a handful of months that is all they use. I personally call this the closet concession.

From my experience closet concessions also mean that your probably not going to be buying the next product in the series either. It is easy to see why as well, because it is just human nature to have reservations about a new produce since you shoved the old one in a shoebox and never touched it again.

Honestly I think it is going to take a lot for Nintendo to get out of the shoebox now, and a lot to keep people from putting the console in the shoebox. Sure you will get theatrics on the day of the conference if it goes bad, but nobody is likely to openly say I give up. There is too much pride there. You will know in a couple months when they are asking for game recommendations for their new console.

A lot of people may disagree, but the way I see it if your buying a new console in the middle of a generation that means your first console is not fulfilling your needs. That is a concession in itself. Other people have consoles and they feel no pressing need to get another. So why do you feel the need.

I have only purchased a DS so far, and I'm happy with it. Would I give up on Nintendo as a gamer? Probably not.

But as someone who is a topic enthusiast, and likes following videogames, if there is anoter bitch fit over what Nintendo is doing I will give up on gaming as an industry to be watched. I'm at my tipping point with that, with the industry being taken over by technology companies, things being built not created, with hyperbole saying the opposite. Not to mention the prospect of Apple taking over yet another portion onto the technology paradigm.

Not on playing games, but on new games and systems for the most part. I don't care for the PC-esque HD gaming PS360 genre, so I guess you could say I wouldn't give up on Nintendo as a gamer, but I would be bored out of my mind with the industry to visit this website for example. I would drop that for sure, and I think that's likely to materialize.

So because I freely admit Wii Sports is one of my favourite games of all time does that mean I am not core?

i can never give up on nintendo, they gave me so many great gamesover the years, as long as they have mario, zelda, metroid and shigeru miyamoto around i will be buying nintendo consoles, though i would be pissed at them if they pull another E3 2008.

I would only give up on them if they either:

Mess up Zelda series

OR

Give up on it.
