What the hell are they doing to the screen?

Are you serious? DSi an answer to the PSP 3000? Why would they add a camera and an online store? Both things that the PSP 3000 didn't have. It was announced two and a half months later, for God's sake! You think that's enough time to make up a new system? The DSi was the answer to the slowdown in DS Lite sales in Japan, and to a lesser but still prominent extent, the iPhone. Neither the DSi or the PSP 3000 were "answers" to each other.

These were rough selections, but they are close enough to figure out the aspect ratios are clearly different. What this means is that current PSP games will have to be stretched or letterboxed on the PSP Go, compounding the issue of the smaller screen. This makes it a signifficant gaming and video downgrade. |
242/138~1.7536
215/123~1.7479
16/9~1.(7)
Given that you said those were rought selections, ratio seems pretty much the same.
The PSP go seems to be even bigger failure each time i read something new about it.
They REDUCED screen size ? WTF?

The screen size was reduced by half inch, and the aspect ratio is still not confirmed.. lets just wait and see what will be the real deal ;)

Well the UMD drive is no more, the screen is smaller, and seeing taht the entire device is slimmer, I think that the battery could eb smaller inj size to ;) So I dont see why we couldent have a much lighter product ;)

It looks like it is tiny.... but that screen could cause some concerns, let's see how Sony present it at E3
