Logic is for the most part preserved. Staggered launches are generally caused by limited production. It's impossible to prove, but after a long enough period(3 years is certainly long enough) there'd be very little difference in sales compared to a hypothetical global launch on the date of first release. There's no extra software that would have been released in that timeframe. So the only thing changed for the consumer is the amount of time the product is available. With nothing else changed it's reasonable to assume the "current" sales would've just been spread out over the extended period. I mean is there anyone that says "Product A is only 113 weeks old, I'll purchase it on week 116."
Oh my, and all this in the middle of a RECESSION! =)))))
In the middle of A GLOBAL CRISIS! =)))))))
And on top of that no PRICE CUT!=))))))))))

Not to mention that the Wii didn't have a "Universal" launch either... It was staggered by a month each...
