Forums - Nintendo - has their been a shift in third party support towards wii and away from HD?

sorry. by wii Vs HD i meant wii exclusive vs HD games exclusive to either PS3 or 360. sorry for the confusion, its my fault.

but yeah taking that into account it does negate most of the games in that list. though i admit that i forgot about star ocean 4 (probably cos it hasnt released here in the UK yet). its quite a scray thought the cost of development has almost ended exclusivity on the HD consoles.

Well, if you do that then most of the games on your list above become invalid. A PS2/Wii, Wii/DS, or Wii/PSP is not exclusive.

I dont think it will ever take third party support from the HD consoles, but it will start to get some good games, like it currently is

Trauma Team
Tatsunoko VS. Capcom
Silent Hill: Silent Dreams
Fragile
Ju-On the Grudge
TMNT: Smash up

We clearly have different tastes then, as I have seen you criticise the Wii lineup or specific Wii games before, and now you come out with a list with some games I would never consider even renting.... with at least the exception of Fragile, which I will likely buy if it comes to Europe.

i wasnt sayinf all those games were exclsuives, i was just looking at what publishers were givig us. but even only counting exclusives weve got conduit, madworld, red steel 2, spyborgs and the entirety of Xseeds line up. even square seems to have stopped making 360 exclusives

Why define it by strict exclusivity? My prefered definition is based on whether the game is available to a particular platform or not. 95% of real people don't own more than one console so the idea of cock measuring by using comparisons based on games which are available on only one platform is misleading. The market is not defined by the corner case of the 5% of people who may happen to own a Wii and HD console/powerful gaming PC or some other combination. This is a thread about the market support for particular consoles, its not some Wii vs PS3 vs 360 battle royalle. If some support is PC/360 or PC/360/PS3 or just PS3/360 then so be it.

Tease.

It has picked up in terms of third-party support but it isn't anywhere near the predictions some were making a year or two ago in which they were claiming that pretty much every third-party would bring their major franchises to Wii at the expense of HD.

It's also interesting that suddenly the shift is to exclusives when discussing this issues. Does anyone really think that games like Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc, should be ignored in a thread asking if there's been a shift for developers from HD to Wii?

im not saying that because wii has the exclusive sit has the better third party support. but its a good wya to measure the shift. 12 months ago if i said that n 2009 most of the good exclsuive games would be on wii, i would have been laigfhed atbas a delusional fanboy. im less interested in wii 'beating' the HD consoles than i am with wii gaining a level footing in terms of respect

I'd also like to point out the UBISOFT has little to nothing to do with NMH2 in the US and more than likely the publisher will be XSeed. ^_^

Marvelous owns publishing rights to NMH in Japan and XSeed has a binding contract with Marvelous for a time frame of releases.

=)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

and yet murramassa is being published by ignition not XSeed

one of the game sin the ubisoft E3 teaser is NMH2. so unless there they are creating No More Herpes 2 i think ubisoft is the NA publisher

More third party games are coming to the Wii as opposed to the next to nothing that they were getting. Yes their is a shift, but it's not as though everyone is abondoning the other two consoles. It's happening slowly. I think that you will notice more of a shift when the next generation starts because third parties will be a little less apprehensive to develop for Nintendo since they know that the console will most likely be sucessful. They weren't sure of this with the Wii.

In japan, the wii is getting some major games soon, but I don't see a huge shift anywhere else. I watched a full hour of hd games yesterday on spike, not one wii games was brought up.

but did you notice the majority of those HD games were for the 360? its cause microsoft has stock in spike TV. that is why 360 games wins the most awards at spikes videogame awards every year. they will not show anything of wii cause of how bad the wii is destroying the others in sales. cause of the microsoft influence.
