R&C:Size Matters was released recently and it did ok, or is doing ok. So does anyone have any idea why that wasn't the case with Daxter?

It DIDN'T. Only the PS2 versions. Ratchet & Clank are far more popular in Japan, it's not a surprise R&C Future already releases in Japan on November the 11th.

I just see Jak III never have been released in Japan either, so I guess it didn't sell as great as the Crash games did in Japan:
