why would nintendo need to make games? they already built a machine to print all the money they could possibly ever want for them. :) jk, I'm sure nintendo has plenty of big game announcements, and microsoft for that matter.

However, I think Sony has already announced most of their big games and will mostly just be showing trailers of these games, but ya never know, I could be wrong :)

That's what I'm thinking too. It seems like everyone is giving Sony the win already simply because they have a lot of games already announced, but people seem to miss the fact that surprises tend to win E3 and Microsoft and Nintendo have pretty much non-existant lineups. Personally, I think Sony is the contender least likely to win E3 out of the big 3. We already know almost all the stuff they've got, they can't do much more than show more trailers from their blockbusters.

how anyone can say that sony will won E309 when almost all their titles that will be presented on their conference were shown year ago on E3 back in 2008? for me they already lost.

E3 2009 is basically Nintendo and Microsoft

Because they have even more games to unveil. They are going to demo Uncharted 2, God of War 3, MAG, Ratchet & Clank ACiT and probably a few more that I haven't thought of, all big games (MAG less so) and we have not really seen much of them before. They of course have the big bomshell of GT 5, announcing it for 2009 would be a massive announcement, in every way. They will probably show something from SE, though I know their presence at E3 has been lessened due to swine flu, but with those FF posters, I think we might see something of XIII, bigger news for Sony on a WW scale.

They might also have something decent to do with home, though Xi has been reasonably successful I think

We also have a good chance of seeing something from Kojima at the Sony conference, a new game from Lightbox interactive (Incognito), quite possibly something from Sony Bend and of course Trico could be announced

Oh, and the potential new hardware/price cut, that could likely be big

Oh, and that is only on the PS3. On PSP they are going to show off LBP PSP, MS Artic Edge, Jak and Daxter the Lost Fronteir, and they said they still have many PSP games to show of and announce, having announced those, Rock Band and Assassin's Creed earlier this year

Oh, and the PSP Go

To me it looks as though Sony have a lot up their sleeve, just because Sony are worse at keeping secrets does not mean that their conference will be any worse that the others

That's what I don't understand. Going into e3, a large proportion of this forum is saying that Sony will dominate E3 (then, again, there is a growing number in PS3 fanboys here).

That doesn't make any sense, the biggest E3 victories came from unannounced stuff that blew people away, "megatons" if you will. The most important one that's shaped the gaming landscape in the past 15 (I think) years was the PS1's launch price back in the day. The most recent one was FF13 at E3.

The important E3's (they all are to a certain extent) are won by announcements. Remember folks, Sony can't reannounce Ratchet and Clank, GoW3, uncharted 2, GT5, FF13, VS and TRICO gameplay footage has leaked or been available for some of them already.

Given that their release schedule for the rest of 09 and 10 is quite packed, do you really think they'll announce much more? maybe 1 title at most and it has to be MASSIVE for them to "win" E3. MGS5 maybe? Other than the possibility of that game I don't see.

We know of about 3 high profile releases for the 360 (ODST, Alan Wake and Conviction) and 1 high-ish for the Wii (Sin and Punishment 2), and they don't even have a release date yet, just a broad release window.

I think this E3 will be a big Sony loss ONLY because they don't need to announce anything, therefore all the hype generated by the PS3 fanboys will result in nothing but "revealing" footage of games and not new games. The balls in MS and Nintendo's court to take this E3 on and win it. THe only thing I forsee giving Sony the win for this E3 is whatever Kojima is doing or a immediate worldwide simultaneous price cut.

I'm sure Nintendo have something more than just another Zelda up their sleeve.

@ calamity, announcing GT 5 for a Christmas release would still be massive, and I don't think they will spend half their time going on about casual crap like I fear M$ will

GT5 for christmass won't be massive... just as announcing a date for FFXIII was a non event.

the games have been know for years, GT even had Prologue, if the date is christmass 09 or 10 it won't change a thing...

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Didn't Sega announce that Saturn had already been released at E3? That was kinda awesome :)

Announcing a date for XIII was not a non-event, it was a non-event over here because it does not affect us, but if they announce GT 5 is coming on 7th December, say, then there would be some buzz, and its release would be a major event, in terms of sales, and just us PS3 owners getting more great games to play

I have always wondered how you can "win" a E3 by showing games we have known for months? I mean showing some trailer over and over again won't do.
I tought that to "win" they need to show something people haven't seen or expected.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

NIntendo will unveil new commercials for Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii.

This should keep them on top until next year.
