I doubt Infinity Ward could not care less about you or what you think of them OP OR the extra 1-2 million Wii sales. Yes they are happy to ignore 1-2 million sales.....that pretty much tells you how much the PC, PS3 and 360 versions sell.

No, it shows their lack of effort

Ok, now this is one of my pet-fucking-peeves. Lack of effort? No. Just different priorities for resources.

Infinity Ward only have a certain amount of resources, these are already diverted onto three platforms, spreading them off to support a fourth platform will have a detrimental effect on the final product. Diverting resources to the Wii will mean that the game would take longer to finish, or it will be of a lower quality - and there's no way that Activision will allow a slip in the release date.

No, it is a lack of effort. COD5 sold well on wii. There is no reason for the wii to be left in the dust and if they make a comment they want this to be the best selling game they need to release it on all three consoles.

Ya its a bit higher than the other ones. Its a bit late where i am, can you just get to the point ur trying to make?

4 was the breakthrough game. WaW on the HD systems was a followup to that. WaW on the Wii followed up a game that came out two years before instead of one, and was disappointing to a lot of players. And it still sold a million copies in less than six months.

The sales comparison is not valid, as the factors are different.

If 4 was on the Wii, and sold as well as the HD systems, and WaW sold the same as it did, the comparison would be valid.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

And someone brought up the bullshit "sales were horrible in comparison", completely ignoring that WaW followed CoD4 on the HD systems, which the Wii version didn't.

I was discussing this with one of my mates the other day (huge Nintendo fanboy). I don't really think that it would have had a hugely detrimental effect on the sales on Wii as CoD as a name/brand has become so huge. IF you like FPS, you see a new CoD, regardless of platform, you get it. If anything, the fact that it's not made by Infinity Wad should have put people off, but that would have been universal across all consoles & PC.

Which is why Infinity Ward had a job listing for Wii developers :P

Well, that's all good then, my post was more of a general attack at that fucking-piss-annoying "devs are lazy" comment, y'know, the one that Sony fans spouted every time a poorer version of a game came out on the PS3.

However, how recent was this posting? There's no way they could get the game done in six months, perhaps they're preparing for a later released Wii version, after Christmas, perhaps. The reason why I'm thinking this is that MW2 was started before WaW was released, and, as such, they had no idea of the success of the Wii version - what's more, wasn't the Wii version a slow-burner in terms of sales (I don't know for sure, I'm not a follower of Wii sales, tbh) - which means that it probably wasn't considered a financial success until months after release.

CoD5 was also of a lower quality (going by average reviews, as well as my own personal opinion). One could argue that bringing it to the Wii meant treyarch diverted resources away from the other versions and lead to a game of poorer quality (they did put a good effort on the Wii version afterall). It had less innovations then CoD4 did and copied a lot of the good and bad ideas from that game. Of course, one could also argue that Treyarch just aren't as good as Infinity Ward at designing this type of game :P

@LordTheNightKnight

k I sorta see what ur saying, though I still don't think that reason alone was enough to create such a huge gap between the two versions

Well developers are needed a few months after projects are started so know that and the job listing was around Christmas so if they had MW2 in the planning for Wii and started it before the release of W@W then Christmas would be around the time serious development would start on all versions but since they already have nice sized teams from CoD4 returning for PS3360/PC development they might have needed more people for Wii development.

Nothing is set in stone but I say wait till E3 coming up in a week until people start writing it off like it's just not coming.  Much like W@W was announced on Wii later then the HD versions, the first footage of W@W Wii didn't show up until E3 with Nintendos press conference, who knows they may wait for E3 again to show off the Wii version.  But there's two guys that work in the industry that use the forums here that have said they've talked to IW. So I'm siding with them until E3 if no news pops up at E3 then I'm on the boat of "don't hold your breath"

Wait when did IW hire Wii devs? WOWOWOWOW!

That is just fantastic. I think E3 is only 2 weeks down and we will see an announcement there.

BUT IW BETTER MAKE IT ON THE WII!

Get over it. This is entirely expected. They don't want to compromise the proper game, spending time working on the Wii would have meant less time to work on the PS360PC versions, so the game would have had less polish. I don't see why they would develop for Wii when CoD 4 sold well over 10m on PS360PC. All they want to do know is to make sure that they get those versions right, and try and beat the masterpiece that was Call of Duty 4.

Oh, and while you go on about the whole controls vs graphics crap, the gameplay in CoD 4 was enhanced by the graphics. It would not have felt so intense on Wii graphics, and that would have ruined the experience. And the friend codes system would not have worked particularly well online

That would be more presentation not gameplay... >_>

You realize W@W has online and it's fine you just have to add friend codes for friends which most people don't care <_<

The engine for CoD4 runs on Wii and IW could do a lot better job making the engine look it's best...

*sigh* And personally there's a lot of evidence saying this game is coming to Wii, you can even pre order it at some stores already, just hold your horses until E3 at least people -_-

No, they are intertwined. Better presentation improves the immersion, which makes the game more fun to play, improving your overall experience. Yes I know WoW has online on Wii, but it is obviously better on PS360. They are not just going to use the CoD 4 engine, they are going to improve on that engine, they have been working on this game since CoD 4

Not really... prenstation helps the story and may make the story more entertaining it's not going to improve gameplay... your enjoyment doesn't mean it's gameplay, it's like Whoa I just saw Star Trek it had awesome gameplay cause it got me so immersed with the story <_<

And what would make you think that if they're coming out with MW2 on Wii that they haven't been working on it just as long?
