yeah,starrt a thread about anything rare :-|
on topic; i see what you are saying, even though in the last two gens i have played very little on my nitendo systems. yet i still have fons memories of the days playing snes and n64. but you are forgetting the good ole nitenddo ds. that everybody seems to own. 
If you think there is a difference between the fans of each consoles, think again. It's all the same, we are people after all.

Don't worry, I have seen that side. Usually in the threads cocnerning "babyfication of the hardcore" and the whole boycot period is still burning on my soul. But those debates are usually kept in the gaming discussion forum. I meant that in the end with these boards the nintendo section and nothing more or less.

A lot of misunderstandings in this thread. I think he/she meant that if you wanted to see how bad Nintendo fans CAN be, mention Rare. So he/she was agreeing with you.
Anyway, the only reason why I see this forum not getting swamped with the sort of crap that goes on in the other 2 forums is because Nintendo is clearly first and I think, will remain first for the entirety of this generation. There's nothing interesting about that, there's very little to no chance of that changing. What is up for grabs is 2nd place, so whilst I believe we are all as bad as each other, Nintendo fans don't need to defend their console or harass other consoles/fans because they are sitting in 1st place. They basically have nothing to gain (not that there is much to gain from what the other 2 sides are doing anyway).
I'm sure there'd be a much bigger uproar about things like 3rd party support on the Wii if it were in a close battle with either/both of the other two.

It's not going to be the same industry in 5 years. Nintendo is disrupting the industry at a very fast pace. With M+, they will make a new tier of Wii games. There may very well not be a Sony or Microsoft board in 5 years (or they will be niches). The industry will definably change.

and I've seen Nintendo fans flame SONY and MS fans...

The reason why there's possibly less war in this discussion is because Nintendo is in first.... THAT'S IT!!!
Make a thread about the following and point out 2 ways in which MS or SONY [especially SONY...] perhaps doing better in that department and I guarantee you, sparks will fly:
Wii lacks M rated games.
Nintendo Killing core gaming.
Comparing Rare to Inzomniac/NaughtyDog
Does the Wii have to many Kiddy games?
I don't like the Wii's Online.
Mario's milked too much
WiiFit isn't much of a Game
and a few other's I just can't think of...
