I kinda fear the state of these boards ~5 years from now

It's not going to be the same industry in 5 years. Nintendo is disrupting the industry at a very fast pace. With M+, they will make a new tier of Wii games. There may very well not be a Sony or Microsoft board in 5 years (or they will be niches). The industry will definably change.
